  1. Is this the same dubai that lured migrants in with jobs and then took their passports and basically treated their workers as slaves? Who will now rebuild the city?

  2. Civ V with vox populi is the best version of Civ. Itā€™ll change the way you play entirely.

  3. ā€œNo one in the family wanted to be around you. Every time youā€™re here there are problems.ā€

  4. I'm in Michigan. Mine just went up 56% on renewal, I am absolutely going to be calling and complaining.

  5. Esoteric? My bluetooth disconnects all the time when it didn't on the last two rentals I've had, and my previous Ford Focus. This is a great update and I'm very happy they are finally fixing the issue. I was able to make the issue less common by moving my phone to AVRCP 1.6 and MAP 1.4, but Subaru isn't a small company and I have no idea how they didn't see more of these issues in testing.

  6. I had this happen to me, I asked for no extended warranties or anything, then I got that in the mail. If you call the dealership (only the dealership, no one else can cancel this. Despite what they may tell you.) you can cancel it within something like 30 days. They will refund the cost of the "added security" back to your car loan as a credit.

  7. Bootloader on phone is locked, so this guide won't work. I keep getting this error when I try the fastboot oem unlock 0x command:

  8. Sony has the official unlock tool on their website, did you try using that? I was under the impression every model could be unlocked by getting the code to unlock it from them.

  9. I think Iā€™ll stick to advice from my lawyer, thanks for the tip. You should identify as a lawyer if you are giving out legal advice here. Iā€™m guessing you arenā€™t, which makes it even worse.

  10. Iā€™d suggest you get your retainer back from ā€œyour lawyerā€ then and check his license with the state bar, because Iā€™ve never met a single one that would categorically make a sweeping generalization like that.

  11. https://www.noonanlawoffices.com/blog/2023/june/should-you-talk-to-the-police-without-a-lawyer-p/#:~:text=If%20the%20police%20detain%20you,lawyer%20before%20answering%20any%20questions

  12. Apparently your best paralegal buddy needs to talk more about the finer nuances of law with you more.

  13. I think you might be getting hit by terminally online syndrome my dude. I have literally never seen a single one of these "pranksters" in real life, and they are certainly not at "pandemic" levels.

  14. DNS request timed out. timeout was 2 seconds. Server: UnKnown Address: 192.168.0.1

  15. Solved it, I'll update my post with the solution.

  16. Looks like a layer 3 problem. IP connectivity needs to be sorted. Is DNS functioning on your devices connected to the unmanaged switch?

  17. It doesn't appear anything behind the switch is getting DNS either. I'm not totally sure why, as I'm locally hosting the DNS on the same VLAN.

  18. The underlying reason for this scorn is simple ā€”

  19. They get so many MBA applicants. Weā€™ve had positions at my company that weā€™ve had open for months because not a single qualified candidate has applied. One only had 2 applicants in 6 months. If youā€™re in a specialized field thereā€™s essentially no competition for you, but MBAs and really anyone with a business degree is a dime a dozen and contribute very little real value to a company.

  20. Like the X-Files character, creepy.

  21. Thatā€™s pretty close to what I had pictured in my head honestly. I think it would be an interesting way to make more options for what to do in certain situations. Possibly new escape routes too when youā€™re cornered.

  22. Already have extracted the hash key and tried many places, brute force. Friends at amazon with massive aws computing power, offering 50% etc to code breakers. No luck. Ik its a very long stupid password. Ill never get it open so whatever

  23. Have you looked into a rainbow table?

  24. We are getting Farm Boy Xmas dinner.. so flipping easy and good!

  25. This is what I ended up doing, thanks a ton for the suggestion. It was just the kind of thing I was looking for!

  26. Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox original. Got to like right before the end of the game and managed to soft lock myself by saving near death. Spent hours trying to escape the soft lock before just giving up and never coming back.

  27. I'm having this same exact issue right now. I added it to one phone while on vacation so I didn't have to carry the card with me. Locked. Got back home, added it to my work phone, locked again, no option but to wait for a letter in the mail.

  28. baba is the unknown dip by the west. ill take it over hummus any day

  29. We must live in different "the west", because I'm in Michigan and can find it all over the place.

  30. Sony Xperia 1 V is the ultra enthusiast phone that still has a headphone jack and a ton of prosumer stuff that Linus would enjoy.

  31. Completely agree. You can't even BUY the fairphone in the US, so as cool as it is, and as much as I want to give it love, you can't even get it for the majority of his viewer base. Sony getting attention from Linus could legitimately help pull a proper and REAL 3rd competitor into the Samsung/Apple war (maybe Google too) and make a healthier ecosystem for everyone. Plus, it's a damn good phone that deserves the press.

  32. If Iā€™m not mistaken this is actually illegal. Once she has paid for the items they can only go through the bags with her permission as it is now her property. If they suspect her of theft, they need to call the police. They cannot detain her, they cannot go through her bags which are now her property. If they suspected theft it was up to them to intervene before the checkout was completed.

  33. You are mistaken, lookup "shopkeeper's privilege" most US states have a law on this. It is perfectly reasonable (in most states) for a business that believes you are stealing to stop you, say "did you pay for that?" and check your receipt. Should they find you are guilty of stealing, they can take the item back, or hold you until the police arrive.

  34. You are not, in fact, obligated legally to let an employee check a receipt. If the store is concerned about theft, they can implement manned registers.

  35. Yeah, no, do not listen to this. That depends on where you live and in some cases absolutely can be legally required if it's requested. It's called shopkeeper's privilege. Most states have a law for this and they are allowed to detain you for a reasonable amount of time if they believe you have stolen something for the purpose of determining that.

  36. This is exactly what I mean.

  37. Briefly tried to reconcile after 10 years of no contact, almost immediately after dad tried to start blaming me for family drama, pin things that had nothing to do with me on me and tell me I "deserved to be kicked out".

  38. How'd you get your hands on 151? It's been discontinued since 2016.
