  1. Most of Ayre’s voice lines, especially when you first meet her. Her voice is so damn soothing too.

  2. Sidenote I love how all 3 arts have the eye placed on the correct side!

  3. Not to be a debbie downer, but when practicing, Judoka throw each other. In fact, their partner will allow them to execute the throw and provide little to no resistance. That's how they learn the throws.

  4. He was also in the KGB when he was younger. He presumably knows how to get thrown safely. Doesn’t make the photo any less funny looking.

  5. Tbh the whole IPad thing probs isn’t healthy. I was an iPad kid but I lucked out bcs I mostly grew out of it. The school reports are worrying too, but that’s not “Oh em gee gen Aloha braib rot,” that’s “now that YouTube is seen as a viable substitute for parenting by lazy parents, children are worse off.”

  6. How remiss of us not to mention one of the greatest romance poets in history: Sappho.

  7. Video game movies have mostly been incredibly mediocre the last few years - which is a big step up from the age of Uwe Boll and Paul W.S. Anderson.

  8. Uwe boll’s movies were a tax fraud scheme

  9. Elephant, eagles, samurai. Although it isn’t pictured here, historic samurai usually used bows, which are perfect for picking apart any of the other animals except for the elephant, which could shrug them off. The birds are likely to be difficult targets and are useful to harass and blind the larger predators and pick off the snakes.

  10. Emperor palpatine supports your transition… to the dark side!

  11. This was the plot of a Geronimo Stilton episode.

  12. To be perfectly clear, I am NOT a medical doctor. I do not have an MD.

  13. I remember talking about you with this on a zoom call once! Physical therapy was what you did before you could be an author full time IIRC. I was the skinny kid with the sprained wrist on the off chance you remember me.

  14. The latches that let you lock the windows. One shelf from the cupboards.

  15. My dojo blends a lot of other styles and actively encourages cross training. I know some judo throws, some jiujitsu holds, some boxing hands, and some taekwondo kicks. We also have some fairly unique moves that aren’t sparring/mma legal like ear rips and I cross train in wrestling on my own time. We still keep it karate, though. Our black belts need to demonstrate 13 full length kata during the test.

  16. The thing about sword 4 is I’m pretty sure wielding a weapon that powerful would fix the source of its power for me. Sure, I’m left with a weak sword, but who gives a shit?

  17. One option is to switch weight classes. I’d advise sticking with this guy, because fighting him will make you better much more than easier/harder opponents will. Find things to do outside of practice to gain an edge. Learn a new move that he doesn’t know and learn it really solidly. Train the defenses to his go-tos more. If you know this guy loves Fireman’s, for example, work on that roll through. Get your mindset ready to go to war. Forget every time you’ve lost to him, they don’t matter. This time’s gonna be different.

  18. Damn, 20 an hour is what I make part time as an assistant instructor at my dojo. I like that job a lot more (I’ll take teaching kids karate over dealing with hungry people any day) but yeah 20 an hour is nothing to sneeze at, especially if you’re still in school.

  19. I personally didn’t care for the Dune books or by extension movies, but they’re definitely competently made even if they aren’t my cup of tea.
