  1. Black bears hate dogs. The scent of a dog alone should keep any bear far from camp. I have a golden that is also a hunter. He has a high prey drive. If any critter comes near camp he will absolutely lose his shit. I sleep with snacks in my tent, that's how confident I am with him at camp.

  2. "Cuz when we're holding hands it's like having...."

  3. Damn we live in a messed up world. In my head I tried to pronounce “XYZ” as a pronoun… 😭😭😭

  4. I mean... I think Se7en already covered more than we ever need to see of something like this in film (sloth).

  5. That specific part of that movie really fucked with me.

  6. I also came here to say gymnastics. Gymnastics will give them a head start on body awareness and strength- and the running, swinging, tumbling and rolling are all fun for kids at that age

  7. I would even say that gymnastics would benefit even advanced wrestlers. Watch any D1 team warm up. They all do tumbling and what not. The skills go hand in hand.

  8. I'm a PM for a TC contractor. I know stuff like this takes extra time, but I really appreciate when guys take some real pride in their work. I know I can trust their work!

  9. I sometimes wonder what people learn in driver's Ed anymore. I guess some people just wait until they are old enough to take the test. Obviously a few laws and best practices have changed since I did it (in the 80s). But we learned some really helpful things that I don't see practiced anymore. Like "following distance" of people used a 3 or a 5 second following distance things like merging, "the zipper," roundabouts and a lot of other things that many people hate would be much easier. And less accidents too, of course.

  10. You still have to take a written test, no?

  11. I'm skeptical. I think you can study to the test. And the test is multiple choice if I'm not mistaken. I'm clearly on the verge of becoming a curmudgeon. Not proud of it, either .

  12. I doubt the test covers safe following distances, etc. I'd guess it is focused on the laws. But, like you I am out of touch with how the process truly works.

  13. I'd use it to hide the rest of the bodies while I come up with a long term solution.

  14. hunting is about minimising suffering and maximising use out of anything killed .

  15. And posting it online for profit/attention

  16. I own an ag fence building company; imagine how fun it is to watch a farmer's eyes pop out when I have to tell him the mile of 4 strand barbed he wants to replace will be 17 grand when it might have been 10k five years ago

  17. From your perspective, what of your costs has increased the most in the last 5 years?

  18. Not in ag fencing. Own a brewpub. Labor costs have gone up around 50% in the last 3 years. Ingredient costs have gone up at least that. Things that weren’t big deals before have become significant: utilities, insurance, shipping (used to be $80 a pallet, now $180) internet (my Comcast bill was $178 in 2016, now $450ish), the guy used to play guitar on a Friday night was $100 with beer, now $250 (and beer). I’m lucky that I have the real estate situation in a good place because the other brewpub near me is seeing a 2x increase in rent for their new lease. They are likely going to close due to this. If I hadn’t increased prices I would absolutely would have closed in the last year. And me and the 4 people that pay their mortgages with my place would be unemployed. It’s a tough time for everyone.

  19. Thank you for the insight. When you say labor has gone up 50%, how much of that is wages paid vs benefits or whatnot.

  20. The snub nose, black markings on the face and shorter legs are what make it look like a gray fox.

  21. Absolutely! If you work hard and consistently, you will find success. Don't be discouraged if you don't win matches. Work with a coach to set realistic goals and have some fun doing it! My son went from never winning a match in youth, never winning a match in 6-7th grade, to winning his conference championship as a sophomore. Point being - don't be discouraged if you're not winning!

  22. Watching NCAAs, I rarely have a dog in the fight. I moved to the South from PA, so I always root for southern guys to do well, and I kinda want to see PSU do something insane like set the team record or have 8 champs or something. Other than that I just want to see good wrestling, fun matches, a couple wild upsets. I’m just watching for entertainment.

  23. Interestingly, I also tend to be neutral in matches that don't feature my state's team. Vito is an exception to that. I had never even heard of him until last year. I absolutely love his style and his attitude. Watching him pound on Fix was very satisfying.

  24. A few sliders and a caramel roll from Tobies across the bridge slaps hard after a week in the BWCA. Just putting that out there.

  25. I doubt it was forgotten. It was on the screen, announcers even mentioned it. I would assume he knew his opponent had riding time and Carr definitely knew it the way he was avoiding attacks at the end

  26. He went back and toed the line like he thought he was about to wrestle OT.

  27. Carr got hit with questionable stall calls anyways. He deserved to win in my opinion.

  28. Some very clear stall calls, but the one he got while he was taking messinbrink down was awful. He sprawled and hit a re-attack. They literally awarded 1 for stalling and 3 for TD at the same time. Garbage.

  29. DC looks like he's holding some fluid.... might want to back of the sodium.

  30. Davis wins like a loser and loses like a brat.

  31. Idk man I love looking at the Iowa corner and seeing two identical gremlins bouncing around.

  32. Yeah it's pretty much quintessential to an Iowa match to see two tiny guys with ill-fitting suits bouncing up and down showing ire for what would otherwise be considered a normal call from the ref. But in their "planet iowa" minds every call needs to favor them.

  33. Isaiah Salazar never ceases to amaze me with his ability to almost lose matches.

  34. Did you watch his second match? I mean, I applaud him taking 12+ shots. But only finishing 1 and looking like he was on the verge of being tossed by Rogotzke the whole match was nerve wracking.

  35. I rub soap and water on my body and that seems to help.

  36. Can you dumb it down some for the newer folks around here?
