  1. First important question. What kind of bike…? 2nd question. Where do you plan on parking it?

  2. From an old school bike mechanic here. We used penetrating oil. Let it sit. Start with 24 hrs. Adding oil through out the day to make sure it’s getting in there between frame and post. Then with seat off the post, invert bike upside down and place seat post in a vice. Slowly begin to exert force turning bike frame in one then the other direction. If it did not come loose… or give, let it sit for another day…. Rinse and repeat. There wasn’t a seat post that eventually did not give in…. Sometimes heat… hope that helps some folks… and of course goes without saying, never insert a new seat post or stem… brake cables etc without greasing first.

  3. You probably already solved this, so this comment added here may be useful for others looking to solve for the same issue. To start, the rear derailleur is adjusted by cycling through the gears using the rear derailleur shifter. Additionally and very important, is to adjust the limit screws that stop the derailleur from moving too far inward (into the spokes) or outward (fall off the sprocket ⚙️) Shift the gear shifter into the lowest gear. Bottom. Run the cable through the derailleur and tighten. Now cycle through the gears. You may need to adjust the cable tension on the cable barrel adjuster. Tighten (most likely) or loosen. Click through the gears and tighten if gear makes noise and has trouble getting into the cog you just shifted into. If you shift and it jumps two cogs, cable is too tight. A couple of turns to the cable barrel adjuster should do. As others have mentioned the drop out, which is the part of the frame that the derailleur attaches to must be straight not bent. That will throw everything off. Good luck.

  4. I’ll add my observations as well. Bus looks empty. And lights are flashing. That tells me the bus is out of service and means no passengers. Which means ( note to the guy who quoted the law…) would negate the performing work part of the code and allowances.

  5. Another serious accident waiting to happen. Here’s a simple example to illustrate my point. Person/human/pedestrian/ you/me/ mom/dad/kids crossing street during traffic like this expecting it to only be a bike lane… pedestrian sometime don’t look (due to poor design and distractions) and suddenly bus flying by at mock 2. I won’t go into the details… 😞 We can anticipate this. Will we do anything before it happens…? Doubt it. Will we point fingers once it does. You betcha bottom dollar!

  6. Are you sitting in your car? If you are why didn’t you call management and police!!!

  7. Thanks. Been hearing about way to many accidents lately. Stay safe out there folks!

  8. Looks like a big field or a farm… either way it does t look like a garden. But making a beautiful garden right there with some landscaping and imaginative use of built structures sure would make for a better view!!

  9. if you heard the noise, you would understand that the view is the smallest of my issues...

  10. When I was a kid I had a pencil case, that contained, pencil, eraser, small ruler… and I cherished the hell outta that stuff.

  11. Don’t look like leather…leather would stretch… and rubber soles!?

  12. Ask the building to fence off that area. I’m sure they and the security is liable to some degree. Assuming they provided room for and installed the bike rack, installed cameras to monitor and pay a security company to “secure” the premises. As someone who works in the building you presume given all this that your bike should be relatively safe from being stolen. There seems to be some negligence on their parts. I’d speak to The Biking Lawyer, or a lawyer and see if there is some recourse available to you. Good luck fellow riders!

  13. Ask someone who knows. Also that wall looks like it has some kind of film… plastic… vinyl on it… this could be causing moisture build up… but this is a just a guess. Ask the advice of a professional

  14. Wait, walk up to you. This looks more like a texting…IRL conversations are better, but this is lame and lazy.

  15. I’d write back, A customer discount rate of 15% has been deducted on account of bullshit practices.

  16. I would be too but it’s harder to do so in situations such as:

  17. Sounds like your typical psychopath behaviour. Which of course you will ignore all the sane and logical advice here and go against better judgment, and justify to yourself that you should give this guy a second chance.

  18. Most of those things except for the milk aren’t “really” food tho. That doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate how expensive it is however.

  19. Really sorry to hear this. I hope you are ok and find a safe place. Your mother is Ill informed. You seem to be strong and intelligent. And well spoken. I bet you are a kind person too. It’s not easy, and this is hard. Sending positive vibes from a stranger. ♾
