You can delete them however they can always be pulled back up, also in this situation it would mean since both Bell and the victim had their phones and computers confiscated they BOTH would of had to delete everything that was never found. However IG, snapchat, facebook, all have those deleted things on file the same way you contact a phone company to get their phone records. You can delete a text or even a phone call off your phone but not off the records. All the investigators would have to do is contact the company, use the IG handles, and pull up the messaging record between the 2 in the said timeframe this happened to get EVERYTHING said between the 2. Deleting photos and texts doesnt mean you dont get caught. I'll use a recent example, where a HS kid was jumped and beat to death in arizona 6 months ago, one of the kids who beat him was bragging about killing him on snapchat. The friends came foward telling investigators about it even tho the 24 hour auto delete rule had well been applied for months. The investigators went to the snapchat company, pulled the conversations, and now theyre posted online for everyone to see.
