  1. The wood stone light combination is stunning. I would love it even without the carved out details and motif, but with that it becomes breathtaking. There are a lot of spaces in this home with gentle, welcoming, peaceful light, but at the same time these spaces are dramatic and worthy of a palace

  2. The lower level deck to the left is unneccessary, and I'd rather the pool be a lot smaller and sturdy looking like the rest of the house. I'd also prefer if the straw roof carried to the lower floor over part of the deck and what i assume is a back door patio. I also think that lower level deck to the right shouldnt cantilever so much. Finally i think a nice skylight in the roof, or maybe a shiny metal chimney would go a long way.

  3. Yes but you'd be catering to consumerism offering no real innovation

  4. Is it possible to make a physical prototype?

  5. I think its a good idea and simple enough. Any possibility to modify existing corn seed driers to use electricity instead of gas so that you only need to replace the heating element?

  6. I would probably do the same if I didn't have WiFi tbh.

  7. The qattarra depression project was pretty similar to what youre talking about. Rainwater plus hydroelectric power, and all you need to do is carpet bomb a canal into place. You'd have to deal with the salt, probably.

  8. I think this is pretty good, pretty exciting for a home with essentially no landscape

  9. Theyre all bad. Top right almost not bad

  10. I think its pretty good. When you think vr you think zuckerberg

  11. Looks too small to grow any plants inside

  12. Is this place worth a billion dollars? Ive never seen anything like it and its really strikingly beautiful

  13. Theyre interesting. It needs something else to make the stairs make sense. Like a pole or supporting beam or recessed floor below the taller section of stair

  14. You'll have a hard time feeding yourself. Unless you're isolated, I think its worthwhile to buy staples like rice, beans, corn, potatoes, onions, etc. In my opinion hydroponics is well suited for any kind of leafy green (and you should explore all kinds of leafy greens, seeds are cheap, last a long time, and most leafy greens will thrive in the same environment and setup, so get a variety pack and grow several different kinds), but hydroponics doesnt excel at calorie production. It will, however, save you money on peppers, berries, cucumbers, celery, green onion, herbs, broccoli, and anything that rots quickly. In general, you could research high water content crops.

  15. I came here to say this reminds me of polyfjord

  16. I'll add seeds to the list. Genetically modified seeds paired with highly engineered pesticides are a powerful combo. Also string. Nylon string (fishing line, textiles, guitars, originally used in toothbrushes, parachutes, and "nylons") is durable, waterproof, resistant to most solvents like bleach and acid - it has way more tensile strength than cotton and it's way cheaper too. It's in shoes, tires, climbing ropes, and mechanical parts where high strength is needed. I also grow plants out of nylon instead of dirt

  17. Matrix Media™ is 98% void space allowing for healthy bacteria growth for aquaponics systems AND to help roots anchor themselves in a true vertical plane growing system.

  18. Could there be a microbial benefit to Matrix Media even without aquaponics? What if I just used wicking strips and fog in a tower in a zero g environment? Would you expect slower growth than in the same environment but with Matrix Media?

  19. if you dont need the particles to move

  20. I think its a good idea. Not all farmers markets are the same but with the right crowd i think youre rolling in it

  21. I think a lot of the stuff youre talking about is people who are just very young. Im not sure its really a problem.
