  1. Find a way to mute the banjo, turn on a movie, and just practice the basic bum ditty motion over and over.

  2. I don’t recommend doing the bum ditty while watching a movie. You wanna hear your own articulation while you practice or your tone will suffer.

  3. Tacobell’s hand appears to have been attached backwards lmao

  4. Incidentally, this is the first song I learned on banjo haha.

  5. Whoever transcribed this is likely an asshole. In almost 30 years of music, I can count the number of pieces that could accurately be written as 8/4 on one hand, if I need that hand at all, because I literally can't recall one, but am leaving a margin of error.

  6. I don’t think they’re an asshole, I think they just don’t understand music theory. I didn’t understand the distinction between 3/4 and 6/8 until I’d been playing guitar for several years.

  7. Your friend is right, Raiden should have sunglasses

  8. So, is it safe to handle kittens that way because mama cats do it all the time, or do mama cats routinely kill their young by mishandling them?

  9. It’s true that the suit gives him a wedgie, but you can’t push an ass that wasn’t there to begin with.

  10. Was watching Columbo recently and saw an episode where a wealthy man gets on a plane with his assistant, and they straight up have an electric organist playing calm music for the duration of the flight. I thought that shit was crazy but it used to be real!

  11. Why not? They already distribute films and music in those shitty computer screens in the back of the seats. They use those screens to broadvast safety information and flight data mid-flight. Why not have them distribute the live music?

  12. Not exactly a tragic revelation, but when I found that one Nomai record that says something to the effect of "

  15. Please ignore the fact that it took me 3 edits to do the spoiler text properly

  16. Every time this comes up, I'm always reminded of how weirdly accepted trans people were in rural Appalachia was in the 90's and 00's while the area was super bible belt style conservative.

  17. This has changed for the exact same reason that every other part of America is becoming worse for queer people. It’s national-level Republican Party politics bleeding into and parasitising rural values.

  18. This problem will tragically remain unresolved, as clarifying this would require explaining a joke to republicans.

  19. What if it's out of the scabbard already? You can't lock the edge of a blade if you're disarmed. If someone grabs a smart gun from you, they can only use it as a blunt weapon.

  20. Sam’s blade was an HF weapon. The ID-lock shut down the HF functionality, making it effectively useless against modern military cyborgs. It wasn’t until the ID-lock wore off that Raiden could use it to kill Armstrong

  21. Fucking LOVE Stars, it’s one of my favorites by DTP. If I had to pick one I straight don’t like… maybe Failure? I get the appeal, and it doesn’t actively drive me away, but it does absolutely nothing for me

  22. I don’t get it. How could we be wrong?

  23. Don’t talk to me or my son (who is also me) or my husband (who is also me) ever again

  24. Because it wrapped up the story for all of the characters

  25. Raiden’s ending in MGS2 doesn’t work twice. If he wasn’t able to return to civilian life after the SoL incident, why would he be more equipped to do so after being turned into a war machine?

  26. That makes sense and that's why MGS4 ending is dishonest. War never ends. Patriots order being gone left a hole behind.

  27. MGS2 was kinduva great ending because its open-endedness served as a sort of call to action, like, this conflict doesn’t end with Snake or Raiden. It ends with us becoming aware of the military industrial complex and getting in the fight to disempower it.

  28. I didn't play Wolfenstein but didn't Nazis make some really shit dystopian world in that game?

  29. Wolfenstein’s Nazis make the real-life lebensraum policy look like clown college. Many entire countries in Wolfenstein’s world have been turned into industrial camps.

  30. Ocelot didn’t need to wear cowboy boots to walk a maritime military base.

  31. I still find Liquid Ocelot and his groupies to be the worst.

  32. I disagree with you about Liquid Ocelot, he’s actually my favorite villain of the series, but yeah, the B&B corps was a disaster. They were just trying to steal FOXHOUND’s thunder but couldn’t stick the landing.

  33. I feel like Skullface had charm, at the bery least. Not really enough to justify MGSV’s lack of bosses, but enough to be memorable.

  34. What does reformed ex-new atheist mean if you don't mind my asking?

  35. Just a tongue in cheek way of saying I’ve chilled out. I was really in my new atheist phase through most of high school, but then I went to college, and met religious people who challenged the hypersimplistic way I thought about religion. My beliefs on theists kinda mellowed out at that point, when I realized that people like Kent Hovind did represent a lot of religious types, but that there are plenty of Christians who have more nuanced and not-so-literal reads on the Bible.

  36. New atheists means they weren't raised as one. They went to church. They know what the real score is. They know the scripture. They had to go to Sunday school classes and memorize verses, and go up on stage and sing corny songs for a Christmas play, and go to youth groups and listen to Christian punk, and go to service every Sunday for 16+ years of their life and seeing first hand, up close, what it was all about. And what was all that about? What was it really? You felt some euphoria singing along to songs and though that was God's hand on you? People get the same feeling at Taylor Swift concerts.

  37. The term New Atheist refers to a specific trend among atheists where we get super invested in the idea that all religious people are savage and dogmatic simpletons. It’s a specific anti-religious ideology that I used to believe in, until I met more rational worshippers who revealed to me that not all Christians take things so literally.

  38. Semis are simply too large to function "correctly" on most roads. They can't turn very quickly at all, meaning they can "cut you off" from 800ft away, as is more or less what happened here.

  39. I’d hesitate to say that it is socially accepted, it is a common practice among developmentally disabled people so questioning it runs the risk of looking like an asshole.

  40. Is there a meaningful difference between it being socially acceptable to do something and it not being socially acceptable to criticize it?

  41. It’s Invisible War! All endings are canon!

  42. Maybe they had an appointment to get to or maybe they just weren't in the mood for young people's shenanigans. If someone isn't enjoying the prank just stop, move on to the next person and don't post it online.

  43. Who you call in’ sweetheart, hun?

  44. Are we supposed to know who this fuckstick is?

  45. Look up the Center for Political Innovation. It’s a fucking hoot. A special type of dipshit you’ve never even heard of.
