  1. That flat design is gonna be so uncomfortable. Going from iPhone to Pixel 7a and my hands thank me so much

  2. Can confirm, as a S24 Ultra user. Flat designs suck.

  3. gc3 says:

Mercedes has been said to assume liability for their latest AI (when used under certain conditions) and Waymo of course owns its robotaxis.

  4. Waymo has a shit ton of sensors on it. Teslas do not. I own a Tesla and would not trust Tesla Vision to get me safely anywhere without a human directly behind the wheel.

  5. Damn I didn't realize how many Elon shills there are. Geezus.

  6. Voted yes. He would have made nothing if he didn’t hit performance targets that were insane. He bet on himself and took a deal no one would else would. Then a political operative inappropriately took away

  7. The superchargers are built and they don’t need a giant department anymore. It’s the way corporate works

  8. LMAO. Google has had search built out for 20 years, you think they don't need a lot of people to run it successfully?!

  9. Yes. Ceramic is worth it for the heat blocking properties. If you can afford it, I'd add in ceramic tint (70%) for the front windshield as well. You won't even notice it's there but the heat rejection will be immense.

  10. Aaaand that’s why I waited until now and leased one. Hyundai finance can take a bath on the resale while I enjoy my $250/mo payments

  11. Any money down? You're winning on those monthly payments! Congrats.

  12. Can't tell if you're kidding. This got the funding needed for Ukraine. It's do or die for them.

  13. It also got funding for Israel, something else many of the under 30s don’t want.

  14. Hopefully, it stays that way, but for most, it returns after a little while, even with the entire charge port and wiring assembly being replaced. Had mine replaced twice. Still started to overheat after a few weeks/months. It's a design defect that apparently goes beyond the swap of the cable for those impacted.

  16. Texas here. Enjoying $0.10 / kwh home charging

  17. Georgian here checking in at 4.5¢ off peak and solar during the day. I feel bad for those who have ridiculous pricing, which many don't want to deal with if they have to choose ICE or EV. So they go with what they know.

  18. I thought it used to be 0.01 super off peak in GA, guess it went up

  19. Every company is different. For my EMC, the cheapest you can get is what I have. Rates always go up smh.

  20. Most likely overheating. When the port overheats, it drops to a lower charging speed.

  21. Good info. I can't imagine many ICCU failures went unreported. I would assume all dealership work would be reported, right?

  22. No, not all dealership work is reported. It is up to the consumer to report concerns to the NHTSA, and most people do not know what this agency is, nor do most take the time to file a complaint.

  23. Doesn't even matter when you ordered. They're doing a priority system. We got a pre-order in on day 1 within minutes of the site going live during the live stream, but with priority going to R1 owners, we know it'll be 2027 most likely before our number gets called. At that point, we might just wait until 2028 or 2029 and get an R3 series.

  24. This puts my mind at ease actually. Our ICE lease ends in April 2025 and figuring out a gap vehicle for 2 years is easier than ~1 year.

  25. Yeah, you're definitely in the clear because remember, production will now take place in Illinois to move faster. But the same factory will now be outputting R1 and R2 series. So it'll definitely be a while. The Georgia factory is where the speed will happen once it's fully up and running for R2 and R3 series. That'll be years and years from now, lol.

  26. I have 2 Tesla Wall Connectors installed. Both are connected to the 200A main panel using separate 60A breakers. They run in group management mode, which limits them to 40A max if both are running simultaneously at full power. When only one is running, they go up to 48A max.

  27. If you take a substitute code from another model year vehicle, would that not render the code useless when the dealership sells that model to another customer?

  28. I hear you. Just make sure you have it in writing from the dealership to use the code since you'd knowingly be setting up and using a code not associated with your VIN to receive services from another company. Don't want EA coming back to you for theft of services.

  29. You win some, and you lose some. The only thing that matters is were you happy with your purchase at the time?

  30. Yup. I think we paid 74k after financing a my DMLR . Very tippy top of the pricing. Is it a bit frustrating if I think about the price difference? Sure. But I've never made money buying a car. And the plan is to drive it for 5-7 years minimum, likely 10+ so all in all it won't matter much. The vehicle has been great. Very few complaints and it's our 5th Tesla (have a plaid model s , which ironically also paid the tip top of 😂😭) but, I believe in karma and hopefully will come across a large sum at some point in return 😂.

  31. Exactly. Some kid, 50 years from now, will look back at this post and be like damn let me get them the world's smallest violin because we are paying $$$$ inflationary monopoly money now lol. I've learned as I age, make money, spend money, enjoy what you have, while you have it... tomorrow isn't promised, and money is simply a man-made tool that can be re-earned.

  32. I checked darn near every insurer this year, and none of them could touch my policy with Progressive, which is still up YoY. USAA and Amica came in the highest. Currently have:

  33. I was with Progressive for 7 years and just swapped to Safeco and my 12 month auto was less than Progressive's 6 month quote. Worth a check!

  34. Thank you, that is one that I didn't give a try. I'm reaching out today.

  35. Yup, when someone in-person talks to me about politics, if they say they're a republican I stop them and ask: OG republican or new school republican? If OG, I continue to listen out of respect for their difference in viewpoint. If new school, I walk away because it's like watching a political TV ad where they have to label it paid for by the Russian Propaganda Agency.

  36. I'm from Georgia. So I can say this with all due respect: This bitch is dumb.

  37. This is my plan as well. Or the new Rivian. We'll see!

  38. Those new Rivians, especially the R3X, are sweet!!! I love the competitive EV space with design improvements annually.

  39. I am liking the Hi5 so far. I've only had it for 3 days but honestly it is a little bit too much car for me. It sucks that there's almost no EV sedans that are affordable on the market that isn't the Model 3, which is what I just traded in. I know there's the ioniq 6 but I just don't like the styling of that car. No disrespect to the people that do, it's s just not my cup of tea. I would really love an EV that's the size of a Prius with 350 miles of range and 350kw fast charging. But they don't sell the BYD Han here so I guess I'll have to wait.

  40. BYD is churning out some beautiful cars. I hope American auto manufacturers are taking notice because if the flood gate ever opens for Chinese EVs... it's game over.

  41. So many of the updates the Ioniq 5 has required a physical recall for could have been done OTA . This is the best thing about Tesla. Huge updates OTA. All recalls I ever experienced were fixed OTA. It doesn't seem like much but it's a nice feature and it's really a shame the 1st gen Ioniq 5s are not capable of extensive OTA updates.

  42. Coming from an Ioniq 5 to a Model Y, this is the one thing that I'm like, wow, this is really nice. My phone just tells me an update is ready and asks when I want to do the installation. Can't drive the car for 20-25 minutes, so I often do them at night or in the morning while getting ready for work.

  43. I work at the Fremont Factory, and we got this email around 11:40PM. Workers that got two emails instead of one, when it got sent, had got laid off. 2 Associate Per Department (From what we experienced) 1 Supervisor from all shop. We are all shocked, nervous, and scared; hoping we didn’t get a second email. No one saw it coming, you knew because you didn’t have access to the Tesla Systems, and you couldn’t badge in through security.

  44. Had an appointment at my local service center at 8am this morning. Showed up on time for an appt that I was told would take 30 minutes, but because of the unexpected layoffs, it was now being quoted at 4 hours. The service advisor apologized for the inconvenience and said they had quite a few layoffs this morning impacting their techs.

  45. Once it starts, it unfortunately does not go away, even with TSBs and charging port and wiring assembly replacement.

  46. I wonder if they just retrofit existing Ioniq 5s to NACS and all issues go away. That would be a dream.

  47. I'm in that same group on your last comment. I need the warranty and service to match the design, which is the only area where I feel Hyundai needs to focus, outside of quality control.

  48. Billionaires in the state pay less tax than the average American.

  49. Don’t we have a tax holiday for back to school? We used to have one. GA does a lot of stupid shit but one thing is does get right is the Hope scholarship. If you live here and go to one of many public colleges your tuition is free (if you have a B avg out of high school and maintain it). It’s a damn good deal and I don’t understand why all 50 states can’t do the same thing.

  50. We do. That one, I was just salty on because it doesn't make sense to do a gun and ammo tax-free holiday if we're not doing it for everything else. This is coming from a registered gun owner with a GA CCP. Why not cars, which many use for commuting to and from work? Why not appliances, to make life a little easier at home? How about airfare to offset exorbitant fare increases as of late?
