I haven't ridden either, but there was a thread a few weeks ago where somebody wondered if the Super DOA was surprisingly difficult to ride compared to the regular one or if it was just him. A lot of people piled in saying that they had a similar experience. And these were (allegedly) intermediate riders, not beginners.

Absolutely do not buy a Super DOA 8-10 days in lol. Putting aside that it's probably too aggressive for him (and might be too aggressive for him years from now unless he's riding a ton)... super lightweight tech decks are naturally less durable and he'll more than likely be falling a lot. Tell him to save his money and get a normal board.
