Sunset weapons are not useless! Most activities don't have a power level or are at 1600. Sunset weapons can still be used. I use my ringing nail in iron banner and it still feels great.
You should be able to 2 phase the ogre and 3 phase the boss solo in about 90 minutes, so everything you just said with a full fireteam seems ridiculous. Look up a guide or something, because you are doing it wrong.
