In my experience, it's fine if you put into rest mode yourself. The issues is it going to sleep on it's own and if you let it sit there all day and go back to turning it on, it can soft brick. Then you have to hold the power button and shut it down. Press the power button again and it'll give you a message that it wasn't shut down properly and will rebuild the database. Then it should be fine after that.
Mattison missed most of practice this week and is listed as questionable. So there's a good chance he won't play.
