  1. Thanks for doing this AMA! You’ve got my vote and I’ve shared the AMA with my family too!

  2. I’ve heard good things about Madriella, but can’t speak from experience.

  3. While I liked Madriella overall, and the price is very affordable, but I really disliked that you would be in the middle of a lesson, and couldn't move forward until you read a book and submitted a book report. It may have changed, but it really ruined my momentum because I didn't always have the time to read a whole book, but did have time to do some of the short lessons online. I'd inquire about this if you think it may also be a hinderance for you.

  4. I used to fall for all the freebies ... I don't even know if they have a daily anymore... I get a daily email from Bookbub about all the cheap options available.

  5. Thanks for your reply! I mean how did you get so many library cards :-) I have two (one that allows anyone in the state to join, and one for my local library), but I'd love to get more to have access to more books!

  6. The State of California allows residents to get a library card in any county or city - only problem for some is that they want you to pick them up in person. A few places don’t have that barrier, but you have to put in some work to discover them.

  7. Apparently microblading actually causes quite a bit of scarring and skin damage (according to the artist who microbladed my brows the first time, and now offers a different service because she found the microblading so damaging).

  8. I bought this case for my mom and my son(teal for mom, brown for son) but I actually prefer my case which is similar but slightly Different.

  9. I love that it looks like a book!!! This is what I’ve been looking for 😍😍

  10. I totally get what you're saying. I get tired of reading the same story over and over but, on the brightside, it does make the unique ones really stand out. A few that I think are good, non-cookie cutter romances:

  11. Loved the Bromance Bookclub series. So fun and great characters.

  12. How’s texting on it? I got the 6300 but both the physical buttons and their triple tap/predictive text drove me mad (and talk to text no longer functions 😭) Have you tried the 6300? Are these buttons the same? And does talk to text work by chance?

  13. UMD prof here— what you’re going through is very common for transfer students even without a mental health challenge making it harder. A few pieces of advice.

  14. You are such a compassionate professor! Loved reading this. Beautiful response.

  15. Soo good. Especially that bye at the end. Thanks for sharing!

  16. I tried it and it was fine for one day. Until you realise it takes forever to type messages and battery life with cellular was dreadful. I'd get around 6 hours or so. After 1 year of doing this off and on, battery health had dropped to the point I got 4 hours before it needed recharging. A good idea but the watch really isn't designed for people who are likely in this sub

  17. We elevated our Christmas tree onto a table (the tree is probably 4-5 feet tall when not on a table), and then put that in a playpen. Worked a charm!

  18. Also, just remember that every comfort measure doesn't work for every client. Encourage them to tell you how they feel and LISTEN. I always ask them, "What are you feeling right now?" Then you'll have a clue about what could be helpful to them.

  19. Haha don’t I know it! I had already started my doula training before I got pregnant and had really planned out what comfort measures I thought would work for me, and boy was that a surprise when so many of the things I thought would work well for me were not at all what I needed in the moment. Def great advice!! Thank you.

  20. I drove myself crazy trying to remember everything that I had learned, and honestly what matters most is what others have said. It's your presence and emotional support that matters most.

  21. Thank you! That’s great to hear. I’ve been studying like crazy and it’s a relief to hear that in the end, it can be as simple as that ❤️🤗 great idea about the birth plan as well! I’m sure that helps a lot too once you have multiple clients (so you don’t have to memorize anything). I appreciate your input and time!

  22. I was not allowed to throw toilet paper at my friend’s house into the toilet. We threw it all into the (open) waste basket next to the toilet, including the ones that had 💩on it.

  23. This is common practice in the Balkans and Turkey as Ottoman plumbing can't handle it. Were the hosts ethnic Greek or Turkish?

  24. So good to know! Egyptian, so maybe it was similar there!

  25. I was just talking to my doula wife about this lol. We’re about to do a podcast episode on it. Seems like everyone has a training. Some are great! Some not so much. Some I can tell they’re straight up lying.

  26. Ohhh I would love to listen to your podcast! Could you DM me your podcast name (or share it here if you don’t mind?)

  27. What’s not to love about that. Can’t wait to listen 😍😍 thanks for sharing!!

  28. Just want to say it’s so great to hear you are so supportive of her and her career choice! It’s so important for success. I hope this gets resolved and I’m sorry to hear this happened to her. I hope it doesn’t ruin her confidence or passion. Sounds like she is doing an amazing job and what a pity for the parents that they have this also as a memory from their birth.

  29. I got a free 3 month subscription to this site called Nessle through my doula training. It gives you a place to send contracts to be signed, take notes, send messages and keep everything organized, send video meeting links, make schedules, get paid through stripe, etc. Everything is HIPPA compliant too. I haven’t used it too much yet, but might be worth looking into!

  30. Yes, agree! nessle.com looks really great. I will also probably sign up with them.

  31. Loooved Bebo Mia. They are extremely supportive of their students, while doing the training and even after, very positive group of people, and they make learning fun! Can’t recommend them enough. And they even give extensions if you can’t get your requirements completed in the two year window.

  32. It’s honestly you set everything you don’t have to take all the clients they give and it’s mainly virtual sessions and maybe virtual labor support. I’m still doing my training for it
