The European Union was urged to prepare for the fourth wave of coronavirus

Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa has called on EU leaders to prepare for the fourth wave of coronavirus. His words are transmitted by RIA Novosti.

“We see a gradual resumption of public life, but we are focusing on preparing for a potential fourth wave,” the politician said. He stressed that the EU does not want a new increase in the incidence of diseases to bring to the region the problems that were observed last year.

According to Yanshi, preventing the fourth wave of COVID-19 is the first priority for European leaders. “We must make sure that in the next six months we will gradually return to a normal state of life, to the times that we had before the pandemic, although some measures will have to remain for a longer period,” the prime minister concluded.

Slovenia holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union from July 1 to December 31, 2021.

On June 30, the head of the Scientific Council of France, Jean-Francois Delfressi, predicted the onset of the fourth wave of COVID-19 in the country in the fall due to the rapid spread of mutated strains of the virus. According to him, despite the decrease in cases of infection, it is impossible to exclude the arrival of a new wave, since people will surely relax in the summer. Delfressi urged residents of the country to remember about vaccination and comply with epidemiological safety measures.
