somewhatbelievable

  1. You reminding me of this feature of the credits has made me realise, only now, that it subtly hints at paintings being switched.

  2. Great work. Not a content suggestion, but you might want to lighten the shade of blue on ‘in a big country’ or give it a light outline, for readability.

  3. Yea will do a lot of tidying up to do, I add pastels at the end to bring it all to life and add colour. Many thanks Paul.

  4. I should’ve assumed as much, given it’s a work in progress - sorry! Best of luck with it.

  5. I’m no expert in cognitive behavioural therapy, but it could help with your negative thoughts, to give you some tools to challenge fears, anxieties and the things that keep your mind stuck in a negative thought spiral. You alluded to your financial situation in a way that suggests you may not have the luxury of affording a regular therapist. But there are plenty of CBT resources online and in books.

  6. Ancient Robots is a new-ish board game cafe in Leith that seems to have quite a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Right next to a great book shop and several cafes too.

  7. Goes walking in the mangroves at low tide.

  8. Because he’s Australian like me, so he speaks normally. By the way, unlike most Aussies I actually live where the stonefish, snakes, crocs - and possibly drop bears - are.

  9. Undignified rant coming in: I hate the abandonment of the letter ‘r’, I hate the long French ‘a’ where it doesn’t belong, I hate that whales is now indistinguishable from Wales, and I should really stop now before I look too much like a moaner…

  10. ‘wh’ as in where, what, when. Don’t tell me though, you say those as wear, wat, wen?

  11. Ya got me! I’m guessing I’m supposed to be exhaling a bit more for the ‘wh’ words, to make a kind of hybrid W/H consonant sound?

  12. I could be wrong but I always thought the scene where the men are whipping and being whipped wasn't actually happening? It was just a representation of the book that she is reading in that scene

  13. It's annoying but I live in a country where a certain large minority of the population is under the impression that the plural of you is 'youse'. No, it's still you. Shits me to no end.

  14. I think the majority of people who say ‘youse’ are perfectly aware that it’s dialect or informal English. It’s a neat solution to the problem of English having no word for ‘you plural’, especially for folk who don’t want to say ‘y’all’ and sound like a pretend American.

  15. I’m waiting for them to respond to the rumours of that rancid dinner with the pope.

  16. thanks. been thinking of making more of these

  18. Not trying to nominate it as the best, but I want to give a mention to Moffat Toffee. Don’t know how well known it is beyond the south of Scotland.

  19. I’m going to seem like such a nitpicking fucker, but this is something I see all the time on the internet so it’s become something of a bug bear: no Scottish person pronounces fuck as ‘fook’

  20. I am unreasonably irked that this person believes that Shrek would say 'meself'
