  1. I just did my first yesterday too. Yes, not to answer for him, but I was surprised how aggressive it was compared to the gym.

  2. How's your sleep? How's your nutrition? Do you weight train too? What do you do for recovery? Massage? Sauna? Yoga? Foam roll? Physio?

  3. Sleep is good, a bad pattern because I work late but still get my hours. I weight train but not when I'm feeling this sore. Nutrition not great, eating everything I can to pack on weight atm. Recovery is about 30-45 min of stretching 4 days a week and some foam rolling, I've done the occasional massage but that was when it was less intense. Haven't tried a sauna or yoga. I only go to physio when I have had bad injuries.

  4. For me at least, sleep is key. I worked the graveyard shift when younger. Don’t know your shift but that really fucked up the restorativeness of my sleep.

  5. Generally - definitely worth going to the actual wrestling club. Not only will you learn better technique, you'll learn faster as the intensity will likely be much higher. That said, once a week at a real wrestling club you'll be challenged to keep up without any background in wrestling. Obviously every club is different, but wrestling is tough to get into cold as an adult - it's generally expected that you already have the basics. By way of example, I started training with a university wrestling club once a week a few years ago. I was already a BJJ purple belt with two years experience with freestyle wrestling in a small club where I learned ground up basics. I was a decent wrestler for a BJJ guy. I was so, woefully behind everyone at the university club. I was older, in worse shape, and the my wrestling technique was super far behind them. I was by far the worst wrestler in the room and basically a detriment to whoever was partnered with me.

  6. I'm definitely going to be the worst there for a while, but it may be easier in Australia where there's no wrestling outside of getting into it cold - it's not a part of any universities or schools here and we all have to seek it out, so we're all just a lot worse by default haha

  7. Has he produced successful college/Olympic wrestlers? If so you're gonna be waaay ahead of the curve from a grappling standpoint.

  8. He's got a tonne of national awards and has apparently developed 115 national champions, so he's definitely good. He's also been elected head national coach three years in a row (Australia). So from what you say, he should be able to create monsters compared to the no-gi places. Thanks for the answer :)

  9. My coach made it clear that if I meant to teach one day, I'd better spend some time at other gyms, just to see how they do stuff and maybe pick up a few new things on the way.

  10. Yeah that's a good point, that really does make it hard with the whole loyalty thing since I'd have to choose one to really rep. Tough.

  11. It was definitely a thing, generally referred to as jump-shoot-jump, that has been removed for 8th, much to the dismay of every Tau player worldwide. Worth noting that the Tau sept relic "vectored maneuvering thrusters" can give one (1) of your suits this rule.

  12. Oh man, that really sucks. I guess I can just give that ability to a Crisis Commander instead.
