I found the email with dick pics my dad sent to me when I was 16. This was what confirmed to me my nightmares and flashbacks from when I was 3 to 16 were real. How was this not enough evidence for the police? Included is a screenshot of my husband being angry at the police for failing me.

That's how I read it as well. I think we're so used to seeing "nice guy" bullshit that people turn every guy disappointed a woman isn't into him a "nice guy". If he flipped his shit when/if she starts dating someone then sure go for it. As of now it just looks like unrequited love and he's trying to not let his feelings interfere with being a support system for her. A lot of people have been in this situation and it does, in fact, suck.
The Nice Guy part is the very first sentence where he calls her "so lost" because she's not interested in any kind of relationship. Implying that women uninterested in relationships are mentally unwell in some capacity, which fits under "you don't want to date me because you're too crazy to realize how great of a boyfriend I'd be" and is a Nice Guy sentiment.

Sadly lots of dating apps have sections for "non-binary men" and "non-binary women" because they think all that matters is what you've got in your pants. You can't choose a real non-binary option because if you choose that the next question is, "lmao sure but are you a boy or girl"

It is interesting to look back; I used to be on livejournal in some of the same FoB fan spaces read their posts while the band was brand new. It certainly seemed, in the fading glow of childhood, that they'd always be close. But y'know it's not like if they talk we'd know about it, and if they don't well, I don't talk with most the people I was friends with then either. I hope they keep in touch tho.
