  1. Gotta show some love from my local scene

  2. Promark are great. They’re the only brand of stick that I can pick up and instantly feel right playing. They are also super durable, I can’t remember the last time I had a stick break during playing. They usually just wear down until I retire them instead.

  3. This! I wholeheartedly agree, Promarks are the only sticks that immediately feel 100% right. I’ve broken a few Promarks over the years, but that was because back then I wasn’t really paying attention to technique and energy saving.

  4. Vater sticks tend to be a little longer and with a shorter taper than any other brands, so even their lighter sticks tend to feel and sound a bit beefier. Also, and I think this is purely psychological, but because Vater sticks are flat at the bottom and not rounded like most other sticks, they feel a lot sturdier in the hands. Same goes for Wincent sticks for the same reason.

  5. MxPx does not get the amount of love they deserve.

  6. Green Day, New Found Glory, MxPx, Alkaline Trio

  7. Wouldn't want to clean your cage that's for sure.

  8. Josh has always been kind weird with angles

  9. Made incredible music throughout the 60's and 70's. He is still a complete bell end. Is notorious in the service industry as being a complete cunt in any restaurant (in fact there's a certain hotel between Belfast and Bangor where it is considered a rite of passage to have a terrible VM story under your belt). And the sheer embarrassment felt by all of us when him and oul Junior called Robin Swann a dangerous man in the Europa hotel due to COVID restrictions. Can't knock him for his musicianship, but he's a cunt anywhere but the stage.

  10. Not necessarily, Switzerland sits weirdly in the EU where it is not an official member of the EU but shares the single market, this has lead to near every country in Europe having a similar but different agreement in terms of import charges and tariffs. Especially in the UK and Ireland where its not land linked to the country its meant that Paistes, especially higher end, has always been at the more expensive side. Now thanks to Brexit and a myriad of other cock ups by our government near enough all cymbals be they imported from US or EU are getting wildly expensive.

  11. Jimmy Uso would be D tier for me, if he doesn't get back with Jey I fear he will be edging towards jobber territory.

  12. I would say look at the speeds you see Jazz players go on the ride also Joey Jordison’s stick was slimmer than a 5a. It can be done the thing is though is that you might not get the volume that a beefier stick would give you.

  13. They demolished the entire building. Part of it was that it was a fire risk being in the basement. It was a class venue, but I get the risk. I was in the new one before it opened last year, and said at the time that the new one felt a bit shit. The stage is really low, only like waist high so anyone standing at the back wouldn't be able to see shit. The building in general is shit and the build spec is not what they claimed it would be

  14. Its funny because they billed it as a full "student experience" building with everything being under the one roof but because that cavernous open entrance with the massive stair case takes up a third of the building there's not a lot of actual space for meeting rooms. So rooms were being double booked all the time for various societies. So in the end its more to show off to investors than be helpful for students which I think is pretty much QUB in a nutshell.

  15. Hate the new MH. It feels less like a music venue and more like a conference hall. The old venue was perfect for mid-size rock bands and there wasn't a bad spot in the venue for sound or seeing the stage.

  16. It's gonna be interesting to see what kind of effect all that's going on is going to have on backstage morale. You see everybody having fun in the rival company in this new era they're starting while you're stuck sitting through this awkward pissing match that only 3 or 4 people have a leg in and I'm sure you start to get curious about how green that grass on the other side really is. Not to mention the talent in AEW who left because of Vince but loved working with Triple H.

  17. That's what I'm thinking as well. There's a lot of guys over in AEW who were HHH people who are looking at all of this and then probably looking at their contracts.

  18. I wonder if this pact would of meant that Jim Allister would of ran for North Antrim MP instead of Junior? Also last time TUV ran in that area they came 4th and that was in 2017 they didn’t even bother in 2019.

  19. Lars Ulrichs Ahead sticks when I was like 15.

  20. Likewise with a set of Joey Jordison sticks. Utterly hated them and then you realise that Ahead sticks are like

  21. Yep. He’s a punk drummer who plays with a lot of energy. Unfortunately, with really fast technical metal, you need to play more like a jazz drummer and economize your movement as it’s all about energy conservation. Let the mics make the drums loud.

  22. Yep, Jay’s good at giving it stacks and is entertaining to watch but could not hold a candle against Joey.

  23. So now the two questions are what did the DUP know and when did they know it?

  24. On a completely separate note, I am still not used to hearing Mark Calaway talk and not The Undertaker.

  25. Combine it with a moose cloak, bulletproof vest, combat boots and the deer pants and rabbit mitts and hey presto, over 100% protection.

  26. Well, not so much charge as run three steps and stop as your stamina is already drained.

  27. Its like the opposite of those videos of metric modulation over the tears 4 fears track. Unlike like 90% of them though you made this one groove. Well done sir

  28. While George Mitchell chaired the discussions and became a neutral party between governments I still think that America’s involvement in GFA was the same as their involvement in WWII. They were the catalyst in an already happening process. We would have reached something like the GFA but the US gave the neutral ground in order for these talks to happen faster.

  29. Right? I want to bury bodies, Hinterland. Or at least give them a cairn.

  30. I've been thinking about this as well. I know its probably more "realistic" to just leave them there (thinking about all the bodies left up Everest) but I just would like the option to do this. Even have it cost like 2 sticks or a couple of rocks in order to have a grave marker. Just seems respectable.

  31. There’s a reason why occasionally you hear of people dying trying to to summit Everest to find a certain deceased climber or a cave diver trying to retrieve a colleague’s body. The reasonable response is to leave their body be. But humans aren’t particularly reasonable when it comes to honoring the dead. So I agree, I’d pay a stick or rock toll to bury the people you find in TLD.

  32. You can even make it somewhat tactical as well by having it act the same way as spray paint that it becomes a marker on your map, would be a good way of navigating.

  33. Not in this current iteration as he's just too over, but when he was tag teaming with his Dad? 100% boy.

  34. Has the word “wild” become the latest reverse ironic word, like “ill” and “sick”.

  35. Eh in Northern Ireland it’s been used as for as long as I remember. “He’s wild so he is”

  36. Josh Eppard of Coheed and Cambria. Dude left the band at the height of their fame due to drug problems, got himself clean, came back and coheed is now on their most solid line up and he honestly hasn’t lost a step.

  37. Anyone who worked in high end service industry in the Belfast/Bangor had at least one Van Morrison being a cunt story under them. It’s like a right of passage.
