Manners don't really come into play in this scenario. You need to do what's best for you. Businesses don't take "manners" into consideration when laying people off, or reducing salaries, or making more work for employees. Businesses do what's best for them and you should do what's best for you. That being said, don't burn any bridges, if you decided to take this new role then give notice and let them know how much you enjoyed working for them and how your role there really set you up for success etc. Good luck.
