At least since Control every game feels almost like a tech demo and I mean that in a good way. When I first heard about Control I thought it was like Hydrophobia was where it was a fun game with mostly a focus on whatever physics system they were showing off as a sort of experiment. Water in Hydrophobia's case, destructible environments and telekinetic powers in Control's case.
Your comment kind of makes me wonder if Remedy is working toward something. Like how GTA5 seemed like some sort of culmination of all the different systems they’d come up with for every other previous game.
Been a console gamer my whole life (nothing against PCs, I’m just a lazy fuck), but goddamn if this game didn’t get me spec-ing out a rig after about the first 15 minutes in.
I’d like to see them adopt a quasi “AppleTV” model. Release 2-3 episodes out of the gate then separate the last two or three by two weeks apiece. You get the best of both worlds.
I imagine fans of just classic Max Payne would want things to stay largely the same, but fans of the modern interconnected Remedy games would want to see something new and weird.

I’ve owned the G and the Lumi, and both are worth the money. It’s all a matter of personal taste between those.
