  1. Hey guys, Would I be finding tulips in June if I visit Amsterdam during 15th-20th?

  2. 🚗 Bremen Germany 🚗 I'm looking for a ride to Bremen, Germany on the morning of April 29th. Does anyone know someone with a free seat?

  3. Will you be on a student permit? Then you need an additional work permit to be allowed to work a part time job. Not many employers are willing to go through that bureaucracy for a part timer.

  4. Then you're an EU citizen and don't need a work permit.

  5. On koningsdag, the Amsterdam canals are absolutely clogged with boats, and any boat tour will cost you an arm and a leg. I'd save that for another day and just stroll the canal belt/Jordaan area instead.

  6. Definitely Veilig Thuis, they'll assess the safety of the child and will get the necessary help started.

  7. I'll sort all that out once I know I can get a place if you get me mate

  8. You need to get real. The only way to get a residence permit in NL is by landing a job with a listed sponsor and a salary high enough for a permit as a highly skilled migrant. Or having a Dutch/EU spouse. Or getting admitted to a Dutch university and come over on a student permit- you'll need tens of thousands of euros for that apart from meeting the academic criteria.

  9. I take it you don't have EU citizenship since you talk about needing a residence permit.

  10. Apart from the cost, you won't be able to get a student residence permit for this, as it's not taught at university.

  11. I am hoping to attend the Excelsior football match in Rotterdam which will end around 10pm on Monday may 6th. Google maps shows I would be taking what appears to be the last train from Rotterdam to Amsterdam. Is that a reliable way to get home? Thank you

  12. Curious about moving to Amsterdam and just interested to see what accommodation is like heard its hard to first places but curious one what's on offer price wise, not sure what sites to look at can people send me recommendations

  13. So they told me that the companies in nl have a six month window to hire eu workers, then after 6 months they find workers outside of eu. Thats how my buddy has people from South Africa working for their company.

  14. Sure, if they really can't fill the position within the EU, they can indeed get you a work permit. I imagine you'd need some more specialized / niche skills within your field for that to happen though.

  15. Yeah a couple certifications that I can get before i leave but that’s it. What they are doing is not that different from what im going to school for. And im currently working in a factory with technicians that also do the same job

  16. You'll need a job offer that allows for a work/residence permit before you leave. And generally, people with more relevant work experience in addition to diplomas and certifications are more in demand than people fresh out of school.

  17. How do the Homeless do it in your city? I'm from Germany and they're everywhere.

  18. There's indeed complaints that homeless people do still get fined. But while the truly homeless may (hopefully) get some leniency there, as a tourist you won't get any, and the police will definitely know the difference.

  19. Fair enough, like in my 1st comment, I don't wanna bother others and DEFINITELY don't wanna take some real Homeless' bed away by sleeping in their shelter, I heard you could sleep at the airport. I just can't spend 50€ per night which seems to be the min.

  20. Honestly, if you can't afford a bed in a dorm or setting up a tent on a camping, you shouldn't travel to NL.

  21. Where can I send a scavenger hunt clue for a friend?

  22. Hello! I just got back from a two week trip to Amsterdam yesterday and there is so much I miss already but #1 is sparkling iced tea. How can I get this shipped to the US as cheaply as possible? Amazon is like 130 for 24 if anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. Beautiful city beautiful country I will for sure be back.

  23. De Blauwe Engel and other bars in Zuidas district- that;s where they work. Wildschut esp friday end of the work day.

  24. We are staying at the bird near rembrandtplein and I looked up the transit for that day it Said our train was still running. I figured that was true bc it's on outskirts of town. Should I expect different??

  25. Rembrandtplein is definitely not outskirts- it's centre- but if by train you mean the metro- yes, that will still be running, no trouble there since it's underground.

  26. Oh ! Thanks for all the information, it is really helpful ! I did not know about the cross border prescription. I know that Ritalin can be problematic, i will try to know if it works !

  27. Could you please clarify if the requirement for naturalization has been recently updated? As far as I know, one could apply for naturalization after 5 years of continuous residence.

  28. You can't just move to NL because you want to, as a non-EU citizen. You'll need a residence permit. Residence permits are only given out for certain specific grounds: -having a Dutch or EU spouse; -getting a job offer from a listed sponsor and a salary above threshold for a permit as a highly skilled migrant (only likely if you have higher education and work experience in an in demand field, most likely Tech/STEM); -as a student at a Dutch university.

  29. Leiden will likely be a bit less expensive housing wise than Haarlem. Do you want to enroll your kids in a local public school or an international one? If the latter, you'll need to take locations of international schools into account.

  30. Denmark does not have a retirement visa. For Switzerland, you'd need to prove close ties to the country. It's not as easy as you make it sound.

  31. You could do a GVB bus instead, itinerary is 23 minutes. It's unlikely the Amsterdam and Region ticket is worth it's money if you were to buy it mainly for this itinerary, as a single fare with NS train on that trajectory is 2,60. You can simply check in and out with your (chipped, contactless) debit/credit card.

  32. Would you recommend purchasing a multi-day ticket for GVB travel?

  33. That really depends on how often you intend to use it. If the only public transit per day you think you'll use is Sloterdijk to centraal, that's not worth it. You need to do the math based on your planned itinerary. If you use
