  1. Biden knows that Gen Z are the lowest voting group by age, and the alternative they have is someone even more pro-Israel. I don't think he's too worried.

  2. IMO he cares too much about Dearborn, but I do agree with you. But I will say, people my age are pathetically stupid.

  3. Dude wtf. Why do people think it’s anything like Vietnam!! I didn’t realize that was part of the fucking hive mind echo chamber speak when my “friend” said it to me.

  4. I don't get it either. They think that since our tax dollars go to Israel, it's the exact same as Vietnam. Economics confuse me, ngl. Wish the protestors advocated for renewable energy, wouldn't that be a better use of time.

  5. You can have a mini fridge, you just have to request an "other" accommodation on flamingo's website. I also take meds that have to be kept cold. I'm planning on bringing one of those little makeup fridges. They aren't as cold as standard mini fridges that most people get for their dorms, but they do the trick.

  6. Agreed. It feels like a lot our generation buys into the internet hive mind mentality. Not all of us, but it’s a concerning trend for sure.

  7. I'm deeply concerned for the future of the US. I do worry that people our age won't "grow out" of this. This conflict is our qanon. I do really hope that social media is the loud minority and most Americans aren't this dumb.

  8. I’m seeing fairly large pro-Palestine, anti-Israel gatherings on my campus, so it might not just be an issue confined to social media.

  9. I think both are true. The people who are obnoxious on social media are also the ones in tents. Those who posted "ceasefire now" once are not. I will be extremely curious to see the election results.

  10. I think I already mentioned this to you, but consider Simmons U. in Boston, the second most Jewish metro area in the U.S.! 😊

  11. I think you did! My best friend is at Brandies and loves Boston. It's on my list, it's just more expensive (cries in future student loans). I really like Atlanta for a possible future too. As long as GA doesn't go too crazy with abortion bans, Atlanta is very Jewish and doesn't get snow, both of which are important to me.

  12. If it helps, these past two winters Boston has basically not gotten any snow, either, LOL.

  13. Slay. TBH, I really just want a stable job and a Nice Jewish Husband (who earns six figures).

  14. Reform Judaism allows interfaith marriages? I was under the impression that Reform Judaism accepts the reality that interfaith marriages exist, and does its best to make sure the children of such marriages are still raised Jewish (hence the adoption of patrilineal descent). I don’t think Reform Judaism encourages such marriages.

  15. I'd say that's a very fair assessment. I'm the product of interfaith marriage. Jewish mom and gentile dad. But my dad is culturally christian and Jew-ish. Never converted but my home was almost entirely Jewish growing up with the exception of Santa and a Christmas tree. I don't know if this applies to everyone my age (young adult) but I won't marry out. I'm committed to finding the love of my life who is Jewish. Especially with the aftermath of the war. No way in hell I'm marrying out now. I deeply appreciate the non-Jewish allies that I personally have (and those I don't know). HUC won't let you go to rabbinical school with a gentile partner. I think that goes to show the reform movement's view on the topic.

  16. Hi, 26yo Boomer speaking. What exactly is wrong with preferring to use words correctly

  17. The only people I know who care this much about grammar are over the age of 60 or have PhDs in English. I somewhat understand your sentiment. I use more formal grammar when applying for jobs. But when talking casually, I'll use whatever words I want. I just direct my energy towards more serious "problems" like plastic pollution.

  18. Plastic pollution? You'll be relieved to learn that the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" doesn't exist. Have a good night.

  19. For the sake of argument, it does not. But textile pollution is a huge problem. And it's devastating to Ghana and its people. Not to mention terrible for the water (and those who use it, which is literally all of the plant and animal kingdom) of this planet. Have a splendid evening.

  20. I want your tastebuds. I am decent enough at cooking. I have around eight recipes I like to rotate through my meal prep, I definitely need more thought. That said, I still love my occasional fast food burger. I don't want to, it's not filling at all. And I have a terrible sweet tooth that's the bane of my existence. My life would be better if I didn't always crave sugar. I've asked doctors about it but tests come back normal. I've been trying to pavlov it out, mediocre success.

  21. Follow rootsmetals on IG for Jewish history. The conflict is extremely complicated. Unfortunately, a 1SS is not realistic in the slightest. And let’s be real, Honduras is not the poster child for a democracy. I’m not saying Israel hasn’t committed any faults. But how many people even knew of the conflict before October? Antisemitism is the world’s oldest hatred. Hamas must be eliminated and a Marshall Plan should be installed for a democratic Palestinian state.

  22. She has some really good posts on how the conflict is multi faceted. It’s not just about land. Most Jewish people (especially those I know) want things to be better for everyone. Israelis, Palestinians, Jews, Christians, and Muslims. But this conflict is also a proxy war. Iran and the former USSR have heavily contributed to where we’re at now. Zionism at its core is just Jewish people having the right to self determination in our homeland. It’s not a form of supremacy at all. There are extremists, but they are the minority by a long shot. Also there are extremists in all religions.

  23. I wholeheartedly agree. I traveled at thanksgiving last year and had an extremely tight connection on the opposite end of the airport. I was by myself and power walked like nobody’s business. Especially if there was a delay of some sort. Otherwise people should just wait their turn.

  24. Not ready for Aliyah yet, but thinking of teaching English in Israel! Would love to positively contribute to Israel but not have to commit to moving.

  25. Not worth it (imo). You could be randomly tested shortly after your arrival. Disney is extremely strict on drugs. Would hate for you (or anyone) to be outed from this opportunity because of pot.

  26. It is impossible to win one's second Tony before one's first, so it would be quite unhinged indeed to believe such a thing will occur.

  27. Yes. But I wasn’t sure if there was a joke I was missing out on. I know Eva has two previous nominations. But I often miss jokes so I was really confused.

  28. I like Jonas and Jonah. Personally not a fan of naming kids directly after parents. Jonah or Jonas give your son his own name so he can become his own person and not have to worry about being a carbon copy of your husband. But that's just MY preference, do what you want since this is your family.

  29. Social media is more biased than journalism. Not all journalism is equal. But there are no regulations regarding social media and fact checking. If mainstream news has an agenda, social media has it even worse. This truly is an unpopular opinion.

  30. What are the regulations that keep journalists from reporting falsehoods?

  31. It feels like it's a car model. End influencers 2024. I don't like masculine names for girls, but even Bennett would be better.

  32. My first thought was Sterling George Vito. In my opinion, you need something classic, like George.

  33. I don't think this is unpopular, but I do want to add something because I'm not super familiar with US healthcare. I'm still on my parent's insurance. If someone dies from a car accident where they aren't at fault, the guilty party should be financially responsible for everything. Medical expenses, funeral costs, etc. My brother (sr in high school) tragically lost a friend to a car accident last summer to someone with a previous DUI charge. That man should have to pay for everything since he destroyed this kid's family. Prison isn't enough.

  34. Yep. 10 days. I got sick. I was nine and my brother was six. My family is American and goes fairly frequently. Even at the time, which was just over a decade ago, my family would go to Disney every 18 months. I think a week is the sweet spot for longer trips.

  35. I feel that it's a better nickname. I know someone from my freshman year of university who's a guy Nicky, but it's a nickname for what I don't remember. Nicholas/Nicolai would be better to be safe.

  36. I made a post here back in October about higher ed and antisemitism. It's devastating. I don't trust many outsiders anymore.

  37. Since you already have four, baby five should def continue the trend. It would be too weird not to in my opinion. They might feel left out if they weren't on theme.
