  1. Speed run weapon. It's like playing a fighting game and just spamming the same move over and over because its an easy win.

  2. I have never tried it before but it sounds fun for my next playthrough.  I can’t bring myself to kill Rykard before completing all the Volcano Manor requests, which means pretty late game.  What weapon do you recommend using until then that takes advantage of I assume high FAI/STR and low INT/DEX leveling?  Is there a good starting class that lets me go STR until and late game then respec into FAI late game for this weapon?

  3. Magma wyrm's blade. Easy to get early, uses the same stats, does fire AOE; transitioning to blasphemous blade feels totally natural.

  4. Damage negation would be better for you (assuming you're talking about armor here, or just reading the end result of your total damage negation), assuming you get hit in the relevant damage type (but then most damage you take is physical anyway).

  5. Thanks, I hadn't really done the math on it but you made a great point that the same percentage of damage negation is actually about 50% better than the same percentage of extra HP.

  6. I still have my Armageddon, the rock, beastie boys, hard boiled, and picnic at hanging rock criterion DVDs

  7. The only ones of those older than Diabolique are Picnic at Hanging Rock and Hard Boiled.

  8. Here's what I learned: be 20 - 40 years old.

  9. 8 more points in VIG should be good. It'll also be much easier if you have a stronger weapon. At this point you should be able to pick up Somber Smithing Stones 1 thru 6 pretty easily without even having to fight any bosses or complete any dungeons, so you can get your choice of unique weapon up to a +6 (Stone 5 is found on a chair near the big stone bowl thing at the site of grace right outside the Radahn fight, and Stone 6 is found on a chair by a cliff near the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite site of grace). If you defeat Godskin Noble at Volcano Manor then you can get your unique weapon all the way up to +9 pretty easily (+7 Somber Smithing Stone is found in Volcano Manor after Godskin Noble, +8 & +9 are available near the Divine Tower of Caelid).

  10. Damn, very nice. I have yet to see a 4K at any of the goodwills around me

  11. I semi-regularly frequent nearly a dozen Goodwills around me, and I've never seen a blu-ray at any of them, let alone a 4K. They've got 600 copies of The Matrix on DVD though!

  12. I’m pretty sure you’re right that the cast without sufficient FP is just a weaker version. Each AoW is different with how it deals with “not enough FP,” I believe, like no projectile or AoE. But a weaker attack is basically what happens.

  13. Interesting if it's different depending on the AoW. I can confirm in the case of the Ruins Greatsword's "Waves of Destruction" it deals exactly the same damage when used with 25 FP as it does when used with 12 FP. With 11 or fewer FP, it will "fizzle" and just do a regular strong attack without casting the AoW.

  14. I've had T3 kills with it at least 6 times, now. Card is busted.

  15. What does the T3 win look like?  I imagined Monastery Swiftspear T1, swing for 1.  This T2 swing for 2 more (3 total).  T3 2x Monstrous Rage + Play With Fire, which is 2 plus 7 from Swiftspear plus 10 from this guy, that’s potentially 19 total that turn and you win?

  16. I really don't know if I'm comprehending what you're asking about, but in a major key, the bVII is borrowing from the parallel minor. Using G as an example, F major is diatonic to the key of G minor. F major contains the b7, 2, and 4 of G, so the only "out of key" note is the b7. So this doesn't explicitly put you into parallel minor territory, since it could also come from G mixolydian, which is still a major key.

  17. Aww sorry, probably just the way my brain works - you should’ve seen my spreadsheet haha!

  18. I found this more interesting than regular haul photos. At least this had some informational value. I think it's good to know which labels are offering the better value for their titles during these sales. Vinegar Syndrome are kind of off their rocker with their prices in my opinion. Powerhouse/Indicator were on the other end of the spectrum, great values to be had from them!

  19. It's an octatonic scale, but I've used these notes often as a mixture of C# Phrygian Dominant and C# Double Harmonic Major. They are the same scale except for the 7th degree. Phrygian Dominant has the b7, and Double Harmonic Major has the major 7, other than that the rest of the notes are the same.

  20. I thought about half your jokes were funny and the other half were just eye-rolling and maybe one or two where I didn't really get the humor in it. Your delivery is pretty good, but I would prefer you slowed it down a bit, and put more space between each joke. Your style of jokes reminds me of Mitch Hedburg but a lot of what made him great was his delivery, which you still have a lot of room to improve here. I thought you did a pretty great job for this being your 3rd time. I give you this criticism not as someone who knows anything about doing stand-up, but as someone who enjoys it as a viewer.

  21. Just ordered for a total of $50.49 with a 10% off code. Awesome!

  22. Where did you buy it? I've seen recommendations for Zavvi and Orbit here, wasn't sure which one you bought from with that discount code. I'm thinking Zavvi? I already had an account there and when I put in the code it said "As an existing customer, you can't use a referral discount code."

  23. I have never struggled with Mohg, I don’t think I’ve ever even died to him.  Maliketh is a pain as a melee build because he won’t sit still and I always miss him when I swing at him, but with some ranged ability he isn’t too bad.  Elden Beast is kind of the same situation but he is much harder in general than Maliketh for me.  I personally struggle a lot against Horah Loux.  Those damn grab attacks are so hard for me to figure out how to dodge.  The ulcerated tree spirit you mentioned can be easily cheesed from the cliff overlooking his little island with no threat from him at all.

  24. This is not a Cm9(#11). That chord has a G for the 5th. Every chord on the guitar can be multiple chords if you rethink the notes (i.e. a C MAJ 7 is an A min 9).

  25. This chord does have a G for the 5th. It has both a G and a Gb. I'd call it a Cm7(#11) personally, but I guess they're assuming an implied 9 if you're including a #11?

  26. It's because it has a 5 and a #11. If it didn't have the 5 then it'd be a Cm7b5. I'm not really sure why they're labelling it a Cm9 instead of a 7 except I guess that they're assuming an implied 9 if you're gonna have a #11, but I'd personally call it a Cm7(#11).

  27. It’d have to be somebody like Michael Strahan at this point, somebody who is famous to people who don’t even care about football and isn’t just “hey that’s a football guy they put in commercials still”.

  28. For me it was the Death Bird by Gate Town North. Had no idea there was another one here.

  29. A spell is on the stack, and a permanent is on the battlefield. So you can bounce any spell on the stack, or any permanent on the battlefield (except lands because that would be insane).

  30. What position will he play here, 2B? What about Westburg? Can we put one of them on 3B due to Urias hitting so poorly?

  31. I still haven't been able to figure out when it's advantageous to power stance. Every weapon I've ever tried seems to do more damage two-handing one of them than power stancing two of them. I assume that if you have like bleed on the weapons or something it is faster to proc bleed with power stancing two weapons than two-handing one, is that the use case? Doesn't seem to be the case in this video, though. Is it about stance/poise damage with the power stance move set even if it is less damage than two-handing? I really don't know!

  32. I think in almost every case it’s better to 2H vs power stance. The exception is if you’re not particular good at a boss- running in and doing a jumping PS L1 will do more damage then a running r1 w a single weapon. And bc you’re less comfortable w the boss the lower stance damage you’re doing doesn’t matter bc you’re letting enough time pass that stance is regenerating.

  33. I never see any blu rays at thrift stores here in Los Angeles. Our scummy eBay scalpers are on another level here!

  34. I'm in Virginia and have a similar experience. I absolutely never see any blu-rays, it's all VHS and DVD.

  35. I hadn't heard about the Megadeth sped up set, but "Hocus Pocus" by Focus was a nearly 7 minute long song and when they made a television appearance to play the song with under 5 minutes allotted, rather than truncate the song, they sped it up and played the whole thing. It's absolutely wild:

  36. I've seen enough. Bring up Ryan mckenna. I know for a fact that 1.000+ ops will translate to major league stardom.

  37. I googled Ryan McKenna and saw that his birthday was in 1997 and immediately thought "Oh he's real young still!" And then I realized that this actually makes him 27, not like, I dunno 19 or 20 as my brain automatically assumed was about the oldest someone born in the late 90s could be. And now I feel incredibly old.

  38. As someone who readily admits not being good at the game, and having a hard time with Malenia on my first playthrough (haven't beaten her but the one time since), I'm curious if you could help me out by describing which Ash of Wars and how to use them so I can beat her again?

  39. Impaling thrust (especially on Great Epeé or Godksin Stitcher) is one of the best options. Good range, good damage, gives easy poise breaks, and can stagger her out of certain attacks.

  40. Interesting, I never tried that but on my first playthrough I was an INT built and really loved using Carian Piercer on humanoid enemies, but I didn't even use it against Malenia. I remembered really struggling to beat the evergaol boss that gets you the Tiche ashes, and only finally succeeding with Carian Piercer, and also Juno Hoslow invasion I could only beat with Carian Piercer. It does a great job knocking them out of attacks or knocking them down. It looks like Impaling Thrust is a physical version of the same kind of attack, so I'm sure it's pretty useful! On my current character I've been using the Rejection incantation to knock humanoids down and then do a charged attack on them while they're getting up, and that's been arguably even easier for me than Carian Piercer was on my INT build. Rejection really makes those Crystalians pretty easy! But it also did a great job against the Tiche evergaol boss.

  41. Just tested this specific one and died like 4 times also trying to get back down there but the ghost is there again and disapears with the reward so you can die and still get the reward even after it dropped

  42. Awesome, that's a relief and good to know for the future! Thanks for testing it.
