Look up CPES / clear penetrating epoxy sealer. Scrape away any soft punky wood, let out dry out, soak it with CPES, fill with a compatible two part wood filler.

Unless your walls are absolutely perfect starting out using a shiny paint is going to show every single imperfection once completed. Especially with darker colors like.you applied. Overall i think the painter did a good job especially with how many different colors you had applied.
Yes, just wipe the slots with bleach cleaner. Whatever doesn't come off isn't going to come off on your clothes. Most gaskets develop some stains after a while but they are still fine. Run that washing machine as long as you can. Just leave the door open between loads
I'd suggest oxyclean. Also, if you wipe it out properly, your won't get mold. Mold doesn't grow without moisture. I would suggest that the friends and family that claimed to have done this and still got mold, didn't do a good job of wiping it out. You need to get in the folds all the way around, you can't half-ass it. Just keep an old towel handy and do it after every wash session.
Having an inside curtain that hangs inside the tub, and an outside curtain that hangs outside the tub is perfectly normal. The outside curtain isn't supposed to go inside the tub too. You can probably find instructions on the Internet somewhere for such curtains (maybe from a manufacturer) to show him.

Wood is not perfect, it dries and shrinks. It also twists and bows. All wood shrinks, not all twists and bows as much. Nothing strange or abnormal there.
