  1. First off that tile shouldn't be on the floor. I can tell there is minimum lippage and he dug out the grout, but there's a lot of variables. Mosaic tile can be garbage. Different thicknesses and irregular spacing. Also then prep has the most impact on the finish product. How did he prep this floor? Overall I think you should pay the man. Have him fix what's bugging you but still pay him l. As tilesetters this is what we do to make a living. If your trying to pull a fast one just stop

  2. Could have gone 1/8 silicone movement joint at the bottom then wedge all the tile a little over 1/16. That'd give you full at the top with just enough room for a clean grout joint equal to the field tile spacing

  3. That you are correct about. All comes out. Shower gets flood tested at least overnight. Get a modern design done by a tilesetter, not just a contractor who sets tile. Tile is an art and a specialty so you want a specialist. I'm sorry this guy burnt you tho, it's wrong and makes a bad name for those of us who are professionals.

  4. I seen a alligator make better cuts with his teeth than that shit. Unacceptable. If you haven't paid, dont. If you have I'm sorry. If you opted for the cheapest bid, that's what you get unfortunately. For that I cant be sorry. I get beat out by the cheaper guy often, and he hacks people in then I get to come and fix it for a raised price from the original bid.

  5. If I'm not using factory cut edges, you can bet your ass I cut them as SLOWLY as possible, (minimal chipping,) and dress them to the point they look factory cut.

  6. Any "tilesetter" should be able to take a cut edge and restore it to factory if the tile is rectified or square edge. These guys definitely hacked it in no fucks given

  7. Drywall deck? Where are you located gypsum city?

  8. That's big T nutz homie!!! Gonna learn y'all about some sheetrock floors today

  9. You are right.. a year later I am taking the tile out and fixing the tub... Tile job was garbage anyway...

  10. Saw this one on Facebook. Typical hack work. Couldn't expect much better from these inbred drywallers playing tileguy

  11. U know what's harder, staring at garbage for 30 years when you should have siliconed like a good boy

  12. Just another asshole tileguy 💋 nice herringbone

  13. I'd use mapie warm grey and get the warm grey mapiesil 100% color match silicone with it. Both should be in the same isle. Don't use regular caulk in a shower it will fail. And use the Ultra color FA grout. Follow the instructions to a T. I'd by a separate tube of regular silicone and learn to work with it before going for it in the shower. Masking tape, Windex, and a silicone tool are going to be your best friend when installing the silicone. I like to silicone before grout. Let the silicone set up overnight. I know some people are gonna say GrOuT fIRst 🤪 whatever. I don't like scraping grout out of my silicone joints. After everything cured 72 hours seal all of it with 511 impregnator sealer. Follow the directions on that to a T as well. These products often bite people in the ass who just go for it. Take your time. Learn and follow manufacturer directions and you won't fail. Best of luck 🤙 tile looks great!

  14. Prime it, pour self leveling underlayment over it, then waterproof and tile it. As long as there isn't any major movement or cracking on her slab that nightmare can totally be fixed

  15. I can absolutely guarantee I can do a better job than what’s already up 😂

  16. That's what you think until your mid install and so far over your head your drowning

  17. Find a qualified vetted tile installer and let them do it. Pay the extra. Don't go cheap. Don't attempt it yourself. Just being honest. It's cheaper to do it right the first time than to do it twice.

  18. Whole niche is wrong. Redo for sure. Find a tileguy that can properly miter trim, build a niche, and find the center of a hex pattern. He fucked up just about every possible thing you could on this

  19. I charge high but that's robbery. Find a different contractor

  20. Your tile installers lack of knowledge is at fault for this situation. You can achieve it without having a lip but at stage your shower is in you'd have to go backwards. There needs to be a joint at your shower entrance and then the tiles get envelope cut from drain corner to wall corner on all sides that way you can tilt each section and have it on its own plane pitched towards the drain. Sorry about your situation. If you want that to drain it's gotta come out and be reinstalled

  21. Why not just do a full tile shower? It's a prefab shower so it already looks like shit, your aren't gonna make it any worse by tiling around it. I say go for it. Make sure the ceiling is flat, check it with a level/ straight edge and then fill the voids with mortar BEFORE you tile. Tile is all about the prep. After getting flat I would redgaurd all the areas you plan to tile just for some extra waterproofing. Redgaurd lid. Use tape and roll to it then pull the tape. Tile the ceiling first so it's tucked by the wall tile. Personally I'd use a tile with some character. Something wild. You're really not gonna make it worse.

  22. 511 seal and enhance. Best sealer for natural stone. Don't use any water based sealers they are cheap. Use 511

  23. You better have some left over when you are done. And leave them with the homeowner. If something happens and a tile needs to be replaced years later, you won't be able to find the same tile. I always leave my clients with atleast 3 or 4.

  24. That looks really hard to do, especially to make it PLS and flat.

  25. Learning is a process, but once you get thru it it's not difficult. Just laborus. It's all about setting your screeds right.

  26. Same boof back all you lames are showing. Either a scam or a dealer from out of state trying to say they have good weed. Come to California. I'll show you some real weed, not that rainbow bs.

  27. If it's not flashed and sealed, the entire door needs to come off, be properly waterproofed, the reinstalled
