He is being selfish by not sending himself down the minors to work on his swing. Guess he thinks he is too ‘good and too old’ for it.
The issue is he doesn’t have any options, so if he gets sent down, another team will claim him. The Dodgers value his defensive versatility, so they won’t do that. He’s a super-streaky hitter. As long as the team runs come from elsewhere, the Dodgers will be patient with him. For whatever reason, he tends to be a clutch player towards the end of the season and in post-season play.
