Hello, I've been checking out several videos of this sim for gameplay features, on many of the reviews commentary they state that it's mainly a vr training tool for real airport handler candidates with no "gaming" elements like a campaign mode or mission structure. Does the new quest 2 port addresses this issue and the sim feels like a "subject" gaming sim (akin to say bus driver simulator) with progression, campaign, mission structure or gaming elements?
The First Early Access version is very close to the original corporate version, but starting from this upcoming update we will implement a different approach for gamers and for the business version as we learn a lot from the feedback. The upcoming Sandbox mode is exactly what gamers asked us to create, it is not a lesson, nor an exam. The player will have a lot of freedom and fun from the process.
Some parts of this job I miss: marshalling planes to and from the jet bridge, driving the bridge or the little tractors around, and enjoying the amazing sunrises and sunsets. Looks like this would put me right back there, but without the backbreaking luggage loading/unloading while hunched over, daily exposure to cancer causing diesel and jet engine fumes and lead poisoning, cabin cleaning, and permanent disability.
Hey guys, since we're finished porting our Sim to Quest 2 we're back on track with the development of new scenarios. The first upcoming update is the Towbarless Pushback scenario. Look at this beautiful beast we modeled from scratch with attention to every detail. Soon you'll be able to drive this bad boy, pick airplanes and move them from the gate to the starting position. Tentative schedule for this update: Beta - end of June. Release - end of July.

So the quest version is missing dynamic shadows/lighting. For something like this, why not bake lighting and probes? Can still get the gorgeous shadows in non dynamic objects, and have dynamic objects be effected by it with light probes. Sure, hands and other dynamic objects won’t cast their own shadows, but you’d have a much harder time spotting that when static shadows are baked.
True. But most of the objects (except buildings) are not really static. For example, the aircraft is static in currently available scenarios, but in future updates like pushback scenarios, it will be moving, etc.
My dream job is to become a flight attendant. But life had different plans for me, and circumstances beyond my control have forced me to put my dreams on hold. I searched high and low for a way to fulfil my yearning to fly, but each attempt ended in disappointment. That is until I stumbled upon this game on Steam, and I immediately added it in my wishlist. I'm so happy it finally gets released!!! Thank you for giving me the gift of hope and happiness, for making the impossible possible, for bringing me this otherwise inaccessible joy into my life!
That all sounds really cool! I'll have to check it out next time I'm looking to explore some new VR titles. As a completely unsolicited suggestion, I think it'd be cool to have a mode where the flight goes normally and then there's a chance one of the disaster events happens at random, but at the same time the flight can go peacefully and you just gotta serve food and shit. Sorry if suggestions aren't welcome, just popped into my head when I was reading about it.
i have been wondering why there hasn't been any updates yet. but you were working on quest version!
Exactly!
Will the atr and 787 be available in the other modes? I would love to do a walk around of those planes too.
We will post the update on that later this month.
whoa, those graphics look unreal for standalone

This job really deserves a lot of respect

I can’t believe people pay money to simulate a job they could easily land in real life with the real thing and that pays them $20/hour 😂
Well, farming sims are also very popular, but in reality, a farmer's job is not so pleasant and not so many people dream of it.
Farming sims are fun. The real work isn’t.
Agree!
Is it an addon for MSFS?
No, it's different Sim. Airport Ground Handling Simulator VR.

Are you using lower-poly models? Other than the shaders and textures
We use 4 LODs for most of the objects

Looking amazing. I'll probably end up buying it soon for my Quest Pro
Oh great, please share your feedback!
Pretty sure there's a PCVR version of the game as well
exactly
Are you a mechanic or the ground crew?
Ground crew
Aside from the metal and reflective materials in the Quest 2 version being a little too shiny, it looks fantastic! (I'm just being picky)
Thanks!
Gotta be one of the closest version differences in the quest 2's entire library
Thanks!
I bought it a while ago, but haven’t found the time to try it yet. By the video it looks like a very well optimized game, will try it ASAP
Happy to hear that!
Looks pretty good. Main difference is shadows and post effects on pc vs none of that on quest, which makes sense.
Thanks!
When will it be available? I don't see it on app store or app lab

having worked on an airport for many years, this game looks sick! nice work!
Thank you!
Do we get to unload the plane and juggle the luggage?
In the next updates, I hope!
This is the same plane model that's in the forest. Neat.
Nope. There was an Airbus.
