Is it possible to achieve B1 Italian in a year and a half? I am traveling to Italy in about a year. I am currently at an A1.2/A2 level. If I study Italian 30 minutes each day, but learn intensively for two months before my trip, and actively speak DURING my trip, does a B1 level sound reasonable?

Man, reading this thread has me seriously rethinking a job offer coming to me soon from Japan.
No worries, my friend. All of those people still keep living in Japan even after knowing all of those negative sides. There are lot of stuff that would make you cringe if you came here to work and live, but there is still good stuff in Japan after all.
That’s not just one town but pretty much the south western portion of the country haha (okay not only Spanish, but a lot). I live in Phoenix and soooooo many people here speak Spanish. You could honestly get by with just Spanish here. I see it all the time. If you want to go somewhere with lots of Spanish speakers, look at Arizona, California, Texas, New Mexico, New York City, and Miami.
I love your flair. I’ve never been diagnosed as ADHD but I guess I have it too. What’s that working for your TL?
UWorld’s cpa review 2024 has contained several bugs which give “incorrect” results to correct answers and some explanations obviously lack readability. And man their customer care team is THE WORST. They said they can’t replicate my technical problem and just gave up and ended the conversation by sending me this:
Hi there! We offer certain degree and non-degree programs at UoPeople that will contain courses subjected to specific program curriculum. Please check the following
Thank you for replying and information!
You can get audit and attestation CPEs from a number of schools. They don't need to be from a university.
Thank you! I’ll find out what suits me best
Don’t worry!! The exact same thing has happened to me, but later I realized my native language does easily come back with much more fluency. And I even became better at learning other stuff as well. Let me elaborate on that for you.
Could you tell me more about that? My DM is open too. How did that happen?
hi sorry that it took so long. i’ll dm u
I'm a high school student who speakers native English wanting to study abroad in Japan and would love to help you with English in exchange for helping me with Japanese I'm available whenever if you send me a DM.
Thanks! I sent you a dm!
While I’m not learning Japanese, I’d be happy to help you practice English!
Thanks for your help!
Yeah this place put all of us out of loneliness
If you're on an Intel Mac, use Bootcamp to install Windows 10 along side macOS.
Wow I never expected to see a guy like you here. Thank you.
You're welcome.
It’s very kind of you. Thanks!
(If your TL is Japanese, you don’t have to be able to speak it to get a job here…)
Can I join?
I hope you’ll post on the travel and tell us how successful it was.
I don’t know what it is called but the one Brad Pitt has in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. He’s handsome, strong, and loyal.
That’s actually a great idea, and many people would think the same way as I do considering the number of upvotes.
I'm a singer, and I'm currently learning a couple songs by an Argentinian singer-songwriter. Going forward in my Spanish learning has opened up more of the subtleties of the language to me, which makes singing these poetic lyrics very special. The songs are getting me to learn new guitar styles, too.
I’ve waited for the comments like that. I’ve been learning English for years, and singing songs from the US is one of my favorite moments of the day, and for me, that’s a huge part of my English learning. It helps me improve my pronunciation, fluidity and rhythm, and all that kind of stuff, but how do you feel about that? Do you think singing enhances your Spanish skills in some ways?
Really interesting analysis you did! My common factor of interest between the languages I learn is always music. It brings you amazing insights on the language and culture of countries. What led me to be interested in Japan (and as a matter of fact, the whole of East Asia as time passed) was Babymetal! They really changed my life. It's always been like that with my interest in languages.
Thanks! It’s nice to hear that Babymetal has lots of fans abroad! Music is a major factor for me to fall in love with English as well. Rock, hip hop, R&B, dance, Jazz… many great musicians have generated new sounds in each generation. I like to play, but it’s also fascinating to see my favorite musicians’ interviews without translation. It helps me grasp their music more precisely while absorbing English.
