  1. I was supposed to meet a former co-worker and other people for kbbq in k-town last night around 745 pm. The place didn't have a back lot for parking, and the valet across the street didn't let me park there. After 20 minutes of driving around & not find parking, I decided to just go hang out with my friend's house in Toluca lake.

  2. it's in van nuys. best to go before 3 because it's like $5 cheaper. 7128 Van Nuys Blvd, Van Nuys, CA 91405

  3. ok, im married, have a wife, she is awesome, but pretty shy/non communicative. and I talk a lot.

  4. yes. well, it's not so different from porn, is it? she gets excited watching True blood (old show about vampires)... even when you watch a PG rated show, it's all roleplay in our heads, isn't it? when you get super worried about a show's character...

  5. I don't think it's the same as porn, because you generally don't form any sort of emotional attachment to porn and this virtual girlfriend thing seems like you definitely would. how would you like it if you had to compete with a virtual guy of her dreams who was perfect in every way? idk, you guys do you, but I can't see this ending well

  6. I wrote to the CEO of Metro and she said she rides Metro daily. Idk though.

  7. Scaling is often the downfall of restaurants. How do you maintain quality without constant oversight? By trusting your employees. Problem is, the labor pool for skilled chefs/cooks is shrinking daily, especially in LA and especially in fine dining. Why would a line cook work harder/longer in a more stressful environment when they could make the same $/hr cooking at Panda Express.

  8. RIP Tommie’s in the Northridge mall - the OG Tommy’s knockoff

  9. to add to this, which one is a good cheap one to go to tonight? I'm talking like $15 drinks

  10. Wasn't that the season Barcelona could have gone unbeaten in the league as well and pissed it away for some random friendly in South Africa?

  11. hey! can you do a ayce sushi comparison chart for la? your kbbq one has been super helpful and I've had a great time trying different ones.

  12. Hey!! Yeah for sure. I can start working on it in 2 weeks or so

  13. Most of the Europeans that stay are from East Europe which are generally poor.

  14. ok? so America is still preferred, which is why they move

  15. Well to his point, if most of the ones that are staying are from places that are vastly smaller and poorer than us, like Hungary or Estonia or what have you, then it stands to reason that we’re not putting out an especially good performance. Conversely, there are millions of Americans that would prefer to live in Western Europe, which would indicate that we’re doing a poor job of using our resources to effectively meet the needs of our citizens.

  16. if I prefer the second, where should I immigrate to?

  17. can you help me find a good deal on an i4 edrive35? local dealer quoted $399/month with $3175 + first month + $925 acquisition fee down.

  18. just weird. i’m with you on this. OP just spent 250 - oh, that wasn’t go enough- let me add additional $12.73 and then i’m sure OP dropped a tip on top of that- make not even want to go out and eat- shit getting way to political for me

  19. and restaurant quality food sucks now. Its barely a step above frozen costco food.

  20. This deal is largely to buy WeWork out of bankruptcy. So a16z and other investors sit on the top of the preferred stack, get a clean cap table, and a company that has meaningful revenue / customer base, existing relationships, etc. and they get it now. WeWork did $3.2B in revenue in 2022, which was 26% y/y growth (great for that scale). This deal is basically like making a growth stage investment, but cleaner, and they’ll own more of the company.

  21. why not just buy wework then? I don't understand the idea of giving money to flow in order to buy wework.

  22. a16z is not an operating company, and VCs don’t typically take a controlling stake in a business.

  23. oh okay, so they're just giving AN money for flow and this really has nothing to do with wework. I was confused by your first comment because it sounded like you were saying that this money was going to benefit wework somehow.

  24. I don't think you're the problem. i made a "clickable" figma POS a few weeks ago and I've been out there and showing users and collecting feedback for validation before I even approach a potential technical co-founder, so I'd say it's them.

  25. it's not polished but it looks okay and it's good for demonstrating the functionality of the product. I was just being self-deprecating

  26. that's what I mean, why would the landlord negotiate on that if it was the tenant's only option?

  27. I got my doctor to say that it was necessary for my dog to be with me because esa animals count for housing out here. Somewhat legit but a little shady. And I negotiated to not pay for parking in an underground garage because of the lack of actual parking around the building that was not metered. It took a little back and forth but they accepted it. It's always worth trying especially if they already have your money holding the apartment and you're knocking out the details with them.

  28. "And I negotiated to not pay for parking in an underground garage because of the lack of actual parking around the building that was not metered."

  29. Awesome to know! I have absolutely no interest in seeing the movie, I just want to see Aidy. Hehe

  30. I don't see the times listed in the app for Adam Brody

  31. yeah it was boring until the last 30 minutes and the characters were horribly written.

  32. I rode the trial period and it was very fun / insane that you're riding in a car with no driver.
