  1. It is absolutely in violation. If there’s any point to the premium (there’s not) that they’re charging over face, it’s the ease and smooth sailing. Well, subtract the ease and smooth sailing and they’ve failed to uphold their end of the bargain. Dispute the charges, fight them hard.

  2. Nope. Wasn’t posting for advice. I was asking if it were permitted under the rules. I wasn’t asking whether you thought I should.

  3. If they want a journalist to write a big piece about this… well Vibee has been warned. As said journalist this will be interesting. I asked to speak to their pr team otherwise Im running a story with quote from Sandy in their customer service team.

  4. yes sandy tried to downplay the delta of what they paid and waht they were charging. it was only when i called out the specific math for her that she was forced to admit they were overcharging and refunded me partially.

  5. You won because you were the first to try and were absolutely tenacious in your pursuit of a refund you weren’t entitled to. Good for you, but they slammed that door behind you.

  6. A la cart prices were never 9000 dollars. Face value didn’t change, secondary market did. I’m not asking for them to refund to the point where the secondary market is; I’m asking to refund to the point where the primary market was.

  7. Same, I have my seat assignments. A little disappointed as I had hoped by overpaying when first released would result in the best seats available in the allotted sections. It looks like seats currently on sale right next to us are half what I paid.

  8. Keep calling and applying pressure. Shame campaigns can work. What they’ve done is borderline fraud, particularly because they knew additional dates would be released and that hotel prices would fall.

  9. I recommend fighting them on overcharging the hotel (look at the current rates! 400 cheaper than they allegedly charged us). And on the fact that they seemed to have pocketed an additional several hundred above the face value ticket price + inflated hotel.

  10. I got money back. See my other post. Don’t give up

  11. Walk a portion of the Rim Trail, ride the West Rim Shuttle to viewpoints, drive the East Rim Drive to viewpoints.

  12. Thanks! Are the crowds going to be insane on a June Sunday afternoon? That is, will it even be feasible to ride the shuttle and/or drive around/find parking?

  13. Awesome thanks!! And if we need two spots, should I just snag one if it’s for one person and hope for another one person permit to appear? Or wait for a 2 person permit?

  14. USB looper is being beta tested but it’s xsonic who are producing it, called the ulooper there are a couple of you tube vids done. no additional hardware required. Works very well think you’ll be impressed.

  15. Don’t like that it requires power. Would be great if there were something built in the app/amp

  16. Problem is the usb out on the spark doesn’t provide power. Being xsonic and PG are different companies can’t image PG going to change that. My test unit I’m using a battery to run the ulooper, works great. In all the time PG has had you’d of expected them to simply add a looper effects pedal, but as the Sparks lack processing power(?try putting on loads of effects on gets a bit dodgy). I personally think what xsonic is producing is the best you’re going to get.

  17. Fair but I have no use for a looper that needs to be plugged in. If they’re still working on the ulooper, and they’re reading this, please please please include an internal rechargeable battery for the pedal. Would buy one in a heartbeat then

  18. I work in the industry and this doesn't sound right. When you signed up with this advisor, did you do an IPS or something similar that said how the account will be invested? It's just as likely the advisor forgot about this account and didn't invest it correctly.

  19. I did have a document like that — looking it over now, for the IRA, it had checked “moderate” for risk (vs high or low risk); but still investment horizon was >10 years. Idk…I’m not accusing them (yet) of breaching any fiduciary duties…but at minimum it seems completely messed up that I wasn’t fully invested for an account that I won’t be redeeming for 30 years…

  20. When you ask the advisor, how did he respond? Not too many RIAs still engage in market timing for precisely this reason. From the outside looking in, a moderate risk profile with 10+ year timeframe should be at least 60/40 and probably 70/30 equities/bonds. I would at the very least find out what they were trying to do. Also read this:

  21. I need to ask him specifically about the IRA. For the brokerage ofc he cited the liquidity need but I failed to ask him about the IRA at that time. I will this week; was kinda thinking of just firing because I don’t really care what the explanation is (I’m firing no matter what based on other things too, like the failure to warn me about taxes for the backdoor Roth as a result of his recommendation to rollover my 401k, and because of him literally yelling at me when I started to inquire about some of this) but I suppose it matters for any potential remedies.

  22. Whistler, by far. Prior to “Vail” becoming synonymous with the conglomerate, it really only existed in the minds of Americans. And still now, Whistler is the destination of choice for Brits, Aussies, Chinese, etc. though the latter two are also flooding Japow.

  23. This is kinda what we were wondering. Like pre-conglomerate for vail, and pre-Olympics for Whistler. Thanks!

  24. You may not see it, but there are a few reasons why the request is unreasonable.

  25. It’s incredibly suspicious that it’s the same exact amount as the fireplace credit.

  26. Sure, but people do not usually ask for refunds when they get mosquito bites, for example. Refunds are offered for bed bugs because there is a decent chance that the guests may carry the bugs or the eggs back to their home, which can be very troublesome. Speaking of that, if you really believe that there could have been bed bugs, have you taken any precautions with your luggage after leaving the Airbnb?

  27. Right, and given the stakes and the way the bites looked, an inspector was warranted.

  28. What you want to do and what you CAN and SHOULD do are two very different things.

  29. Got back from Peru yday. Zero regrets about my itinerary. Jungle was a perfect cooldown from the trek.

  30. Lol. Oh enlightened one, please educate me as to how much time is sufficient in order to “see” the sacred valley. What must one do in the sacred valley for it to be sufficiently “seen”? While you’re at it, please enlighten me as to why time spent in the sacred valley is objectively better than time spent in the Amazon?

  31. How’s the weather up there? Seeing all thunderstorms all the time

  32. Are you only wanting to stay at refugios? I am here now, and just booked a hotel on a few days notice. Ortisei and Selva de Gardena have some availability and are a great base for hiking without a car. Did the same in Cortina last week on very little notice. Refugios may be harder but I did notice while hiking some of the Alta Via 1 that every refugio we stayed in had empty beds due to last min cancellations. So definitely try.

  33. Amazing thanks. Not necessarily. We’re going to cortina for the first night: it’s all we have planned. Thinking of doing (at least part of) the Alta via 2 at some point which requires Refugios? Feel like we’ll just need to play it by ear once we get there….

  34. Hartleys Creek Falls hike is also next door to Harleys Crocodile Adventures, which the parent comment mentions as a suggestion. It's worth working in to see some wildlife if you're down that way.

  35. my god now i'm starting to think about going to elim beach instead of tablelands haha. never heard of it before. i like going off the beaten path a bit...

  36. I'd second this advice about the Tablelands activities. I also just want to note that your itinerary for April 30th is incredibly ambitious and maybe physically impossible due to time constraints. The Mt Sorrow hike takes 6 - 7 hours (and is very physically demanding), driving the Bloomfield track is another 3 - 4 hours (each way), and then driving from Cape Trib to the tablelands is another 3 hours. That's a huge day.

  37. Noted! You’d do tablelands over mt sorrow and Bloomfield?

  38. I spoke to them. We’re outta luck unless there’s a miracle.

  39. in the same boat but my trip is on 4/20. idk what to do....hopefully it arrives by then. may call the MVC tomorrow

  40. you migh want to avoid alice springs if you can, there has been a realy bad issue with crime there, especially with car thefts, but other than that i am no expert in dealing with the outback so i will let others help with that

  41. Thanks — will not be spending any real time in Alice springs. Flying into there and immediately driving a few hours out into the desert

  42. The mornings and evenings are cooling right down at the moment. From 11am until 5pm it’s still stinking hot. Give it another few weeks and we will be in the Dry

  43. Thanks! Think that’s enough time? Worth skipping daintree to spend more time in Darwin?

  44. Melbourne is my home town. We are an event city, as opposed to a touristy town with pretty things to see, & great activities (&, IMO, the rest of the state doesn’t have that much to offer either.) Re: events, you could see what shows are on at the theatre, or if any expos are in town, & most importantly - sport. Unfortunately, your current schedule encompasses mostly weekdays, so catching a footy game (AFL) might not be on the cards (& the Friday fixture is junk.) Another thing to bear in mind is that Melbourne’s weather is unpredictable at the best of times, but by early May is likely to be cold, & potentially wet & windy.

  45. Would it be unreasonable to replace Melbourne with like Uluru/kings canyon for three days and then fly in to Melbourne for the wedding
