Great game from 2 teams only playing for pride, kinda wanted Arizona to win out the rest of the season but their final 2 wins both coming against the Oilers also sounds funny to me so I'll definitely be rooting for them on Wednesday
I did a bit of digging and it looks like the Coyotes won the most games against the Kings, followed by the Sharks and Ducks. Makes sense its the California teams, they've always shared a division with them until recently
During the 2016 Olympics they had Elliotte Friedman doing commentary during swimming events (IIRC he was a last minute replacement) and he infamously got Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps mixed up, he got clowned on pretty hard for it but like, he's not a commentator nor does he cover swimming, they might as well have gotten some schmuck off the street to do it
Yeah it’s absolutely ridiculous. You could go your entire life without seeing someone of that size in person, but you turn on the TV and it’s just the norm.
I'm pretty tall myself (6'4) but there's a guy who works at a coffee place near me whose 6'8, one of the rare times I've felt intimidated by someones height lol
You're fine, worst case scenario you'll get chirped. I live in Vancouver and the worst I've had is a drunk heckler or two, never anything close to a physical altercation
Daneyko has the excuse of being a defensive dman tbf, Gomez was more of a playmaker but he was still one of the highest paid forwards in the league, it was pretty absurd how hard he fell off in Montreal
Tonight was the Canucks "next gen" night where they had kids around doing all sorts of in arena jazz. Duet for the anthems, on the arena PA, in game entertainment stuff, etc
I dont think they do anything. It seems incredibly likely the Flyers acquired Petersen in the offseason knowing the Hart stuff was coming at some point.
Eh, even if they knew this was coming I doubt that's why they picked up Petersen. He seemed like a cap dump through and through. Ersson is solid but picking up a backup doesn't seem like the worst idea
Lowkey sucks for the Flyers that they have a key player that likely did this disgusting act. None of the other players of these five will have nearly as large an impact if/when their teams lose them.
Dube has sucked this year but it still hurts for me, he played for my hometown junior team and I was always rooting for him to succeed. Almost bought his jersey at one point. Even if losing him won't hurt the team that much I still feel like shit over this
Terry Ryan was the 8th overall pick in 1995 (Coincidentally, he only played 8 games in the NHL) and while he's played in senior leagues for a while, last time he played in a pro league was 2003. Insane shit
Definitely the case, I'm also from Canada and I have noticed that Walmarts in more rural areas have bigger selections of stuff even if the store itself is much smaller. I live in a big city and the Walmart closest to me is huge but they have more bulk items whereas a smaller Walmart will have shit like a barber shop, car parts and hunting equipment
Danny Wirtz seemed willing to actually have a conversation with the reporter after his dad had a tantrum and he's running things now. Might have just been PR, I don't know, but that's at least better than throwing a fit when simply asked a question about the Kyle Beach thing.
Both players are in the wrong here. Shitty hit from Dach, can't defend that, dude was gonna get jumped. Can't sucker punch dudes either though. I agree that Dach deserved retaliation but let's not go full Bertuzzi on guys
Finland also has a significantly higher GDP than Latvia which is a major factor. Latvia isn't 3rd world or anything, but Finland still has a roughly 2.5 times higher GDP per capita and hockey is not an easy sport to get into as a kid if your parents aren't well off financially. It's still admirable that Latvia is a top 10 hockey country with less than half the population of any other country in the top 10. I just feel like they've never had a true superstar, Sandis Ozolinsh was a very good player but outside of him its pretty much just depth players or guys who only had a cup of coffee in the NHL

I think out of all the teams between 1996-2024, the Coyotes have beaten Edmonton the most.
I did a bit of digging and it looks like the Coyotes won the most games against the Kings, followed by the Sharks and Ducks. Makes sense its the California teams, they've always shared a division with them until recently
Man who ate bees says he shouldn't have eaten bees
This is really gonna hurt our chances of making the 2024 playoffs.
Starting to think it might not be our year guys
Elliotte Friedman moment
To be fair to him, he's a hockey journalist, why tf was he doing commentary on swimming
I’m sorry, he what?
During the 2016 Olympics they had Elliotte Friedman doing commentary during swimming events (IIRC he was a last minute replacement) and he infamously got Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps mixed up, he got clowned on pretty hard for it but like, he's not a commentator nor does he cover swimming, they might as well have gotten some schmuck off the street to do it

Flames traded so many good guys at the trade deadline and yet are seemingly better now than before the trade deadline.
Lol no we very much aren't, we looked dead in the water the last few games
His old buddy
Daneyko has the excuse of being a defensive dman tbf, Gomez was more of a playmaker but he was still one of the highest paid forwards in the league, it was pretty absurd how hard he fell off in Montreal
He was making like $7M at the time
He was the 11th highest paid player in the league his final season with the Habs (2011-12)
... You're young enough Alexa was around in elementary? Jesis Christ I should just fall over and break my hip already.
Alexa released in 2014, there are people in their 20's who were in elementary school when it took off
Tonight was the Canucks "next gen" night where they had kids around doing all sorts of in arena jazz. Duet for the anthems, on the arena PA, in game entertainment stuff, etc
I was at the game, it was a kid, I think they were 13
Early reviews on Kuzmenko flames fans?
Considering I had 0 expectations and thought he'd flop hard with us, pleasantly surprised
Shredded chedda mozza blend, chicken gravy and potato wedges.
Got served this at a Denny's once and I wanted to cry

He's not necessarily guilty, but it's not looking good. For any of the players who do get convicted, it sucks for anyone that ever believed in them.
I know but I wouldn't hold my breath
Can someone explain to me what "made a pass" refers to specifically?
Hitting on

Absolutely remember this too. I think it's probably more common in rural areas where the Walmart is THE go to store.

Imagine distinguishing between one particular parasite and its spawn

Actually Lemieux only got 43 with 2 more games
Fuckin' bum
Guess which person was with the 2010's Blackhawks...
Jamal Mayers played for the Flames at the time, he didn't join the Blackhawks until 2011
Bronze Knights was such an obvious move that I have to assume there was some sort of trademark issue or something because wtf is a Knight Monster
Both players are in the wrong here. Shitty hit from Dach, can't defend that, dude was gonna get jumped. Can't sucker punch dudes either though. I agree that Dach deserved retaliation but let's not go full Bertuzzi on guys
Finland is 5 million. I believe Latvia can keep getting better and be competitive, but they’re obviously not there yet.
Finland also has a significantly higher GDP than Latvia which is a major factor. There was a brief period in the early 2000's where Chris Drury was one of the most marketed players in the league for some reason
