They can store different amounts of data on them (either 1k or 4k). Most Mifare Classic entry systems I've seen use 1k, as they don't require much data on the fobs/cards. 1k has 16 sectors worth of data available, and I usually see only 2 or 3 sectors used, so 4k is usually overkill (and more expensive) for that purpose.
Ah yes that makes sense! I have my original fob scanned. How does one tell if it’s 1K or 4K? I can see the “keys” and the “more info” part but it just looks like chunks of random numbers. What am I looking for?
If you read from the original, the very first line in bold text that the Flipper displays should be the type (e.g. "Mifare Classic 1K"). If you've already saved it, go to "NFC > Saved > (select the file) > Info", and it should be the first line there too.
Legit it's the friend circles you make. Never have anyone in my friend circles done such a thing. Only hear about it from them seeing other colleagues etc so am aware of the culture, but depends on who you hang with.

The only good thing I've found from their gauging is that it finally drove my wife and I to explore our local fruit markets, butchers and bakers. We are really glad we did and I'm happy something gave me the push that had always sat on the edge of my mind. Also Aldi, I am a new lover of Aldi.
Also a new discoverer of Aldis over the weekend. I'm pretty embarrassed to say this is the first serious shop we've ever done there due to some clearly incorrect misconceptions I held about Aldi. The quality of their products were on par if not fresher than Colesworth. I don't know wtf I was thinking all these years, I must be an idiot or am really prone to their media brainwashing.
I don't think you're alone there. I'd say there are a number of consumers who have a negative perception of ALDI without really having a legitimate reason for it. 🧡
Some years back, I was managing a donut shop. Friday afternoon I went to the bank for change for the weekend. $55 in dimes. When I opened them, they were all silver dimes. When the bank called Monday morning, I said they were all given out. I kept them. I would go into my basement and felt like king midas, going thru them. I would organize them by year, etc. It wasn't just the value of the silver, it was the historical significance of the dates they represented. Things like that should not be melted down. Someone broke into my basement and stole them all. I am sure the thief probably saw them as face value and spent them in every vending machine in the area. :( You can't have good things.

How much would you say you spent on that tower? I’ve been looking to upgrade but have put it off for about 2 years now and the longer I do the less I see a need to even upgrade anymore. But seeing a very nice one like yours makes me reconsider.

What's idiotic is a system that incentivizes this roundabout way of achieving whatever reward these 29k KM miles will buy them. Certainly the money spent on the tickets would more than pay for whatever that reward was, no?
I’m not condoning this but the reason these people do this is not for something stupid like free gas for their car. It’s to earn or maintain status levels with frequent flyer programs. At the elite levels you get all sorts of benefits like lounge access and priority free upgrades into business/First, as well as first pick of frequent flyer seats in business/first. If you fly a lot, these perks are worth a lot.
Any advances on this with firmware or can we still only write to Mifare Classic 1K blanks?
