There is a true explanation to that effect : the photo shows you how you look to others, that is, un-mirrored. But your brain is used to the mirrored image of yourself, and finds the true image weird.
The actual explanation is that phone cameras have slight curve to them so that you get more view out of a tiny camera hole. Whereas mirrors are flat and give you the accurate picture
I will still continue to say for the "pov" and "you're" cases. I know its been said too many times, but people are not even trying to fix it. At one point its not even a mistake , just plain ignorance
