TIL that a “Jiffy” is a real unit of time. Defined by Gilbert Lewis in 1926 as the time it takes light to travel 1cm (~33.3564 picoseconds), it has since been redefined in astrophysics & quantum physics by Edward Harrison as the time it takes for light to travel 1 fermi (or, 10^-15m: ~3×10^-24sec):

Imagine it's 1989, just before christmas. You rush to the local toy store to pick out your lego set for the wish list. It can be a big one. Besides, your birthday is coming up, so you might as well wish for a "medium" one. After all, you've saved up some change, 54.75 to be exact. What do you get?

Very old lego!

Check out Proko’s YouTube channel. Oh, and draw, draw, draw. Then draw some more.
Which is weird, because a regular Chevy Nova doesn’t release much energy at all.
Fun fact: A Jiffy is measured in picoseconds or fermi’s depending on whether it’s creamy or crunchy.

That piece came with the Hidden Side train, too.
Looks like 6399 a bit!
Weren’t these supposed to be June 1st releases?
June 1 in Europe, August 1 for North America
Damn. Europe gets universal healthcare AND earlier LEGO set releases? Jealous!
Imagine carrying all that shit in your car.
Ah… yeah, I forgot about the American politics. Now I get it. Thanks, Peter
Please teach me how I too can forget about American politics.
The ski ball machine looks great!
I think most types of glue work on cats.
Looks like an orphanage to me.
Is this a rewrite of that Breakfast At Tiffany’s song from the 90s?
I forgot the sign used to say hollywoodland. I wonder where the land part of the sign is now
Neville Sinclair crashed into the “LAND” part when Cliff Secord removed his gum from the jet pack.
Maybe if he was wearing that sweet helmet he might have survived the impact…and the fireball…
It was a pretty sweet helmet.
1989? I invest it in Apple stock.
🎶 All you want to do is turn it around Sally/ Printed on the wrong siiiide, Sally, siiide! 🎶
Looks like an illegal build technique. 😜
I like that you've kept the vibe of the older stuff but included some new pieces. Like you said, it'd fit right in to the 80s sets that everyone knows are the best sets. hehe
Thanks! I picked up a used 10291 last week for $15 (!) just for the white masonry bricks. This seemed like the perfect application for them.
These old computer slopes are some of my favourite parts. Back in the late 80s I only had a small box of random parts my dad got me at a flea market. The one computer slope I had, was one of my most treasured possessions. It was included in every single spaceship I built.
They’re great. I have so many, I made a super computer not too long ago:
Not a franchise, but would love some sets based off of The Rocketeer.

Jurassic Out of This World
You mean _plastic_enta.
Starting day one looking like a bum is an interesting choice. He could’ve at least shaved the night before.
To be fair, it is a good Netflix show.

Beautiful!
Does the back match 31129?
