  1. Destiny borrows concepts from so much ancient myth from all across the globe, making this universe that’s inspired by religion and history and psychology it’s fucking amazing.

  2. Destiny goes to the largest possible sources for its inspiration: the myths belonging to world religions, past and present.

  3. This is gonna become the new "Strand was meant to be released with Witch Queen".

  4. I believe that the delay was necessary because they needed to do more testing and needed more dev/crunch time to make sure prismatic isn’t broken as hell. But that absolutely didn’t just come up with this in December or whatever people are imagining.

  5. I have thought this since the beginning, made a joke subreddit

  6. It's been a joy personally to stumble into another one of these psychology projects. I've already spent years playing Bungie's Destiny (AKA Jason Jones's esoteric moshpit), cursing it's existence at times and being enamored by the sheer audacity of it at other times.

  7. Peregreaves on Solar w/ Sol Invictus is my go-to master lost sector build on titan. Works great on Arc too with the built-in blind on hit.

  8. Me, standing in a circle of worms and dragon bones and invoking the names of Worm Gods and Ahamkara to summon the Crow and Petra shippers.

  9. Seems to come completely out of nowhere... Unless Sjur is to be related to the events of the season! inhales from a 5 year old canister of hopium

  10. Right there with you buddy. I'll take anything to do with Shaxx.

  11. I just finished Blue Eye Samurai this week, and if I get cucked by Netflix again I WILL cry.

  12. Me when I brick my computer ( I spawned enough crystals with one Behemoth super to make Walter White cream his pants)

  13. In terms of quantity, no. That's just not possible. Under Activision, Destiny was being supported by 3 different development studios and a sizably larger workforce. So I personally think that's out of the question. Quality is another matter, and the narrative of Witch Queen, as well as the overall campaign production values of WQ and Lightfall tell me they're up to the task.

  14. It's not just gaming, either. Money is a useful method of exchange, but people forget it is only that. Money is a way for us to account for and trade the hours of our lives.

  15. On the one hand, I will shamelessly go to bat for ground-level devs no questions asked 100% of the time, and I strongly think this community needs to tone police itself and articulate better.

  16. I wholeheartedly agree with you. These are exactly the pertinent thoughts that people need to consider instead of lashing out.

  17. Calus is just an oversized colossus/gladiator, same attacks, same annoying abilities, map designed to bop you out of the arena for easy loss, how curious that every platform has a yellow bar incendiary so they can bop you off, same with tormentors who will run at you, bop you off the map and also suppress you so you can’t use your double jump to recover.

  18. In my opinion, Calus is more challenging (and interesting) than some Grandmasters I've done. And that's because his attacks, arena and mechanics are specifically designed to counter the one supposedly foolproof strategy that guardians have used in all endgame content: magdumping heavy while standing in a well or a bubble. All of the ways he and his units can flush you out of cover are there to incentivize you to stay mobile and balance add-clearing with boss damage. This is one fight that can't be facetanked by stacking healing/damage resist.

  19. The story of Eris Morn is one of tragedy. She and her squad went to take care of a significant problem in the Destiny universe. But her team failed and in result she was forced to become part monster to survive. Her face is damaged and she now knows and deals with things far beyond her.

  20. From one lorehound to another, welcome to the rabbit hole. There is no escape. :)

  21. The moment I saw the words look within, the motif played in my head. Absolutely goated soundtrack.

  22. same its honestly my fave boss theme, like those first 10 notes were the reason the allies won world war 2

  23. It just gives you that sense of valor, and courage to persevere in the face of everything.

  24. We've been putting balls in holes for 10 years, seems only fitting to bring the metaphor full circle.

  25. Saw tons of comments the other day about how Bungie was "literally spitting in players' faces".

  26. This is what people need to realize. Having a parasocial relationship to a game development studio to such a degree that not getting more content = "abuse" is incredibly unhealthy.

  27. At this point, I've seen Bungie the corporation be compared to whores, sluts, gold-diggers, cheating girlfriends and abusive marriages, and I've heard that a corporation, an impersonal legal entity gave people Stockholm Syndrome.

  28. Life is hard. Regardless of whether you are on a mystic adventure, life is hard.
