  1. Assisted my partners dad installing a new kitchen in our flat. It took a lot longer than anticipated, so that would be my warning. Admittedly, we weren't moved in so both did it around work, but even then. There were a lot of things that just took longer than expected.

  2. I have pretty much always backed the gaffer. Like to think I'm realistic about the circumstances we been in at times, certainly wasn't this supportive of other managers.

  3. This seems underwhelming but there's clearly a different view in football circles of this guy compared to what fans think, he's obviously highly regarded to get interest from the likes of Real Madrid and AC Milan. Wouldn't be my choice but hope it works out and we're not having to re-sign Moyes again in January 2025

  4. I think we were all hoping for someone to get excited about. I've been a big supporter of Moyes and I'm looking forward to giving him a proper send off if we can, but he has never really been a manager to excite.

  5. On the other hand though, Pellegrini came with Mario Husillos as the director of football. Lopetegui would have Tim Steidten instead who's pretty much objectively better than Husillos who was a terrible appointment. So Pellegrini with proper scouting would have probably worked much much better.

  6. Perhaps. But at the end of the day, Pellegrini persisted with Roberto, one of the worst goalkeepers I have ever seen, when Fabianski was injured.

  7. What is the actual thought process in behind hiring Lopetegui?

  8. The board do not like to pay out contracts for managers. Lopetegui is one of the few who will not be under contract this summer.

  9. Thats my hope. He seems more suited tbh.

  10. This is the end run of a small squad. So many tired minds, let alone bodies out there. Fab gone from career high performance on Thursday to this, Antonio reacting so slowly, and just generally tired and sluggish all round.

  11. You mean to say selling every single piece of depth, refusing to give youngsters minutes, AND only brining in a plug on loan isn’t proper team management? 💀

  12. Winter window was dreadful. Even had Phillips been amazing, it doesn't address our forward squad depth. We needed at least one winger. The squad was thin before Benrahma and Fornals left.

  13. Honestly, mostly concerned about Coufal. He's looked tired when we've played him several times in a week. This seems a prime game for Johnson. Even gives a bit of firepower of the bench.

  14. Okay, this does a really good job of capturing the power and the madness. Surely a resurrected Jimmy Space is going on the mother of all crusades.

  15. Oof. I thought Ride of the Valkyries was a tough beat, but if it's anything, it's this

  16. Oh shit, I was at the game and thought it was him that got sent off? Was it someone else? Couldn't see from where I was sat

  17. People in the crowd definitely assumed it was Nolan. I heard several comments and I think a chant.

  18. As my other comment says, mine was about this bad when younger. It sucked. Worrying about wearing black/dark clothing, feeling self conscious that people are staring, think about different ways to mask it, barbers visits being the stuff of nightmares. It's exhausting.

  19. Lately I've been using and recommending the la Roche Posay products. I know they're a bit exxy $$ but for non medicated soothing I find the Baume excellent for scalp patches.

  20. My scalp was as bad as OPs in my late teens/ early 20s. Lots of long hair to hide roots etc... the irony of the long hair making it harder to dry is not lost on me.

  21. Yeah, I noticed that too. Weirdly exaggerated signals.

  22. West Ham fans sing a sarcastic song for a few seconds

  23. Totally. I was at the game. Both sets of fans gave pretty good last night.

  24. It’s a genuine question from the West Ham fans. They don’t know why an atmosphere looks like

  25. Last night the stadium was buzzing. Roof came off after the first goal, fans singing the whole game, Bayer giving it some, fans cheering every good bit of play. Bubbles being sang right after the equaliser was powerful. Plenty stayed to applaud them off. There was real recognition of the effort from the team last night.

  26. On another note, anyone else noticed the sheer amount of mopeds now jumping red lights? I used to see it now and again but it's definitely becoming a thing, especially after dark.

  27. Usually delivery drivers. Constantly on the clock, very little enforcement. No wonder they jump the lights.

  28. I’m almost certain that cars are permitted to use the boxes if there aren’t already cyclists in them?

  29. Being a cyclist and driver myself, I know cyclist love crying about cars in these lil boxes 😂but also have a barrel of excuses for not using their own lanes and staying out the way of cars! … and to be fair, these boxes 90% of the time have cars in them because the lights changed on them at the wrong time! Personally, I don’t care if cars wanna use them. Feel free! They pay for the road, so only right they get priority.

  30. Also the question why were we so defensive in 2nd half?? Ref was killing the game but still we looked with no game plan how to score 2nd goal.

  31. Got to imagine that was to protect Ogbonna. We can play one slow CB, but not two.

  32. How about if we are to change the name we use one that's more understandable for people, not less?

  33. Climate change works as a name partly because it's broad and partly because it easy to comprehend.

  34. Does geezer have a meaning other than old person? This guy is 27.

  35. In the UK, its more commonly informal for man, rather than a reference to age.

  36. Post like this annoy me. A single tiny 25 meter section of pavement is blocked by some bikes and people lose Thier shit.

  37. I walked past this today when it was worse than this. People, myself included, had to walk in the road with oncoming traffic, to get round them. Imagine if someone in a wheelchair came down that path? It's clearly not right that someone be denied access.

  38. And I, and millions of other people, have to do the same every day for parked cars. And not one single person seems to care that children and disabled people have to walk in the road to get around a car.

  39. Car parking being bad does not mean we should then also be okay with bad bicycle parking.

  40. probably 2 up front with But with Ings a lot deeper, maybe even as a 10 or something? guess well have to see

  41. Coincidentally, I went to PT this morning for my own shin splints. It sounds like you've had your fair share of therapy, so I'm not sure what I can offer is something you haven't heard before, but just in case: Try running right up until you feel the pain, then slow to a walk. At this point, you can either stop the run altogether if the pain is that bad, or you can walk for a bit, ease back into running, and stop again when it hurts again.

  42. Hmm, I did not realize it may take so long as 4-6 weeks of not running. Everyone always mentioned to to do 2 weeks off and go back to running gently, and the problem will be gone, but since that was not the case, I might need to take a longer break...

  43. Shin splints is fatigue of a connective tissue. So unlike muscle, it has low blood flow and recovery times are much longer (same for any tendonosis injuries). You cannot rush recovery and running through it will set you back. Any time you get to pain, it's essentially making the injury worse again even if its only a small amount. Its considered one of the most frustrating running injuries because it just takes time to heal.

  44. Fucking Malmo but no West Ham. FML.

  45. This match has Antonio written all over it. Hope he keeps it up.

  46. Hope Moyes is proper riling him up at half time. Stay in this battle with Tah.

  47. Bench is a tough read, it was much easier reading when fornals and beni was there.

  48. Man, I miss Pablo. Tonight the sort of game he'd pull a performance out.

  49. The optimism here is ridiculous. The German league champions-to-be, on a 42 unbeaten game run

  50. Similar situation to Sevilla, who won the cup either side of losing to us. They are the most successful club in this comp with 7 wins in the last 20 years.

  51. They haven’t lost a game yet in the europa league so there is a chance we will loose but even a 3-1 away in the first leg wouldn’t be anything to cry about

  52. The quality of opposition they have faced so far is below the average, even at the group stages. Qarabag 4 times and teams from Norway and Sweden.

  53. I think back to the Sevilla game. Firm underdogs there too. And we missed Bowen for both legs. We did have better depth then though.
