  1. If I was asked for whipped cream, I’d get a can that squirts, or bring real cream in whipped at home.

  2. We are talking about parental love, here.

  3. The kid was NEVER the op's kid. At this point the kid is a bastard. Not wanting to be their doesn't mean he doesn't still feel love for the child but he knows its early enough that he can leave and the child won't feel abandoned by him. Even later in life because he isn't the father. Sometimes LOVE isn't Enough. Unless it's your biological kid even then you have to cut off toxic kids.sometimed ... Love is conditional and can fade.

  4. If you raise a child born to your partner, believing it to be yours, and it’s a year later and you get paperwork that makes you stop loving that kid, your love is conditional.

  5. Okay, so stitch up to the point. Turn the fabric. Stitch down. And stitch off of the fabric a few inches? Trying to understand here and super appreciate this.

  6. Nope. Stick the fabric in at the waist. Stitch towards the point and keep pushing the fabric, so the machine is sewing air, making a chained tail of thread.

  7. So maybe this handy tutorial can help. If you don’t like it there are tons more. I’m better with visuals than words

  8. I agree with the comment on that tutorial do NOT backstitch the point of a dart! It’s too thick, draws back the fabric, and generally too easy to screw if all up. I’ve never seen any tutorial recommend that before, and I’ve been reading about darts for 40 years.

  9. Thank you so much, I figured it was too good to be true at that price!

  10. The skinny “treadle”, violin shaped table, chunky sharp edges, no nice smooth curves, no gap for the mother of all to move back and forth, all point to the classic swso. I suspect that the flyer and bobbin are all one piece, too, but can’t see from the photo.

  11. It has a treadle, and treadles can get broken on legit wheels and are a reasonably easy fix. SWSO frequently have functional treadles.

  12. It has a single skinny stick, classic made in Canada look.

  13. You must've never been to Nashville, TN then over here in the US, it's the bachelorette party capital n most of them do cheat while at the party for the same exact reasons you just stated. Like idk where you live in the world but in the USA it's a super common thought with the whole "it's my last day single I should have a pass to cheat" n a lot of women AND men do it

  14. “Get me to the church on time” is from My Fair Lady. It is not exactly a new show, nor is it American. AHs have always existed…

  16. Get a lawyer fast. The first one in court sometimes gets the best deal, depending on where you are, when there are other children involved.

  18. thanks! i always sort for sweater patterns only 😀

  19. I saw it as a comment on Franklin Habit’s feed. Looked it up, and then a few days later couldn’t help it, and grabbed it for my Town Meeting knit. We have old fashioned TM, still, and I need easy, not boring, knitting to keep me sane while dealing with the inevitable PIAs who don’t listen….

  20. That is a problem. My boyfriend and family will now see my collection and say no more yarn.

  21. Only this much yarn, and they say no more? I have about 30 boxes, some file box sized, some big Rubbermaid tubs. All labeled and contents cataloged in a spreadsheet, so I can shop my stash on the iPad, then send my son down to grab the box. And…that yarn is only the stuff that was upstairs, not bagged and boxed around the house when I was doing the cataloging!

  22. Ha! Yep. I also sew and spin, so I have to triple my storage with fiber and fabric! I do keep mine sealed in tubs as well, mostly to stop any possible infestation outbreak. I have a lot of natural wool, fiber and yarn, and one moth could ruin my life.

  23. I’ve got twice as much fabric as yarn. Not as much roving for spinning, though. And I’m recovering from getting a kidney stone zapped, so I won’t be going to the sheep and wool festival on Saturday 😢

  24. my approach to English grammar is totally empirical and a blackbox. I did learn English since elementary school, but I don't remember any grammar rules.

  25. They taught me about the silent e in first grade. But when they taught me about ie and ei they left out half the rhyme. It’s i before e except after c or it sounds like an a as in neighbor or weigh. That A sound matters. Also, height of my niece.

  26. Height seems to be one of the exceptions to the last part of the rhyme.

  27. It doesn’t fit into either, but expands the second from A to a long i.

  28. Darn, my dad and mom just told that the color are a dimmer on the doubled as the contrast suffers with the other spots 🙈 I guess it's 1 to 1 now

  29. In general, doubled yarn for variegated yarn mixes up the colors more, so there is less contrast. The pattern is muted, less uneven.

  30. The double fits the gauge quite nicely (I don't remember the 10x10 right now on top of my head and will be checking it during work anyway), as the og pattern is for 10 ply and I would be using 4+4. I did the math for the single also already, and it would be even easier for the top so maybe I'll keep in mind that they don't have to be the same weight!

  31. Could really be the Finnish will be better. In English, people have tons of issues with them. I don’t think I’ve seen one that didn’t have something wrong. But they are usually straightforward enough that I can figure it out from the photo. I do recommend against them in English.

  32. Nice quality marching dolls for representation for kids with any sort of difference or disability are extremely valuable. I make dolls with Feel Better Friends, and I made one (not as part of the group) for a new in-law with facial tumors. This young woman had never had a matching doll as a child, and even getting one in her 20s made a difference in how she felt about life. The more challenging the changes I need to make to the basic crochet pattern, the better I like making the doll.

  33. For many years, my husband and I dumped the kids and went to the sheep and wool festival for the whole weekend, staying at a nice b&b, without them for mothers’ day. This amused everyone. Last year, due to scheduling, I went for just one day, alone. This year, I’m recovering from a kidney stone surgery, so I don’t think it’s happening.

  34. Yep. My dog is a barker (corgi) and if shes getting spicy due to seeing something outside that's absolutely fine she gets told she'll end up in time out and if she continues, well she goes to time out. And yes, she knows the word time out and what that means lol. It does work for her oftentimes just saying the word at this point.

  35. A friend’s dog knew the command “crate”, but didn’t always want to get in. One day I was there, and the dog was being a pain, she was upstairs. I said, “crate”. Dog ignored me. Being a mom, with young kids, I automatically said, “1, 2…” and the dog turned and jumped into the crate before 3. No, counting really isn’t the best parenting technique, but many of us do it, anyway. And the dog clearly knew it, too! Turns out my friend did, indeed, count at the dog. So, the command for crate was really, “crate sound frustrated 1, 2”. Not ideal. But effective in the end.

  36. OP admitted that he wasn't even sure biking was allowed in that park. However, the dog owner's reaction was disgraceful.

  37. No, OP said allows bikes and walking. OP wasn’t sure if dogs are allowed off leash.

  38. Could be something else. Doesn’t hurt to do the zoo, as long as you don’t interfere.

  39. The tres Belle dress by Ellie and Mac looks good on practically everyone and is easy. Having a nice dress that feels comfortable and looks good is a terrific thing. It’s a knit, so is perfectly comfortable!

  40. But not to the garment! You prewash it to make it shrink. Then it’s done. Make it to size. But, not wool. Wool doesn’t necessarily ever stop shrinking. You can’t ever be confident with wool.

  41. For plus sizes, it’s best to use good patterns. The ones available from shops, the big companies don’t work well in my experience. Indie companies like Ellie and Mac. They have actual plus sized test sewers and listen to them, so the patterns fit.

  42. I am woman with 4, now grown kids, and my BFF is childless by choice. She was uninterested in my kids as infants. She cooked for us, as new baby gifts, because she cares about me, and values families for society. She didn’t hold the kids.

  43. I’d call the issue with Zipporah zenaphobia, but it’s an excellent example of anti racism.

  44. The middle stripes give the same effect as the pictured pattern. All three options make an excellent shirt.

  45. It’s Lee. Names often don’t follow spelling rules, even in languages with solid rules, u like English.

  46. Up until I was 28, or so, people thought I was under 20. Even adults over 40!
