Can we get a picture of the tank? If you're trying to remove the top rim, don't, it contributes to the structural integrity of the tank. If it's just a lid siliconed in place on one side, you can cut it off with a razor blade or exacto knife. You might be able to extend the exacto knife blade enough to slide under the little roof but there's no way to know without pictures.
That is a really cool tank. I couldn't find too many good pictures of the top but it looks like you could leave the rim on it and just remove the part that opens? Can you remove the hinge pins holding the lid on? That's what I did with my Biocube and it worked well. It would still have the plastic rim (which you should leave anyway) but the majority of the top would be open.
Why? Covers hold in moisture, warmth, and fish. A lot of people buy rimless tanks that don't have covers but I can't think of any benefit to removing one.
If it doesn't have a bomb sight, you have to go ahead and drop altitude, close enough to dive bomb the target.

I live in a very warm climate and I want to remove the cover because I can install a cooler and a better filter (the built-in filter is horrible)
