  1. No I'm fine with both NA homes and that house. Thought you were saying the one in Denver was bad taste. Just misunderstood your comment I think.

  2. Honestly I like them both too, though I might not live in New Albany for other reasons… I think these kinds of new construction will be interesting to watch with time. When the trees get big they might look really nice!

  3. I hope we see it soon. The whole situation has been such a mess that I don't quite believe PARD APF when they say end of the year.

  4. Right… I’m rooting for them but I won’t get excited until it opens!

  5. Er...I like to dip my body in cold water. Which is currently free almost everywhere and almost free at Barton Springs.

  6. It’s terrible but I feel like lots of the pools are too warm! Barton is the way.

  7. The thing that keeps me going is noting how much less sun we have. Tonight we're going to have an hour less daytime than we did at midsummer! In about month, it'll be another hour less of daytime. Even if the temps aren't falling as fast as I want them too, having more time out of the sun in the evening helps.

  8. I love when the light changes! It puts me in the fall mood, even when it’s scorching here.

  9. This is sweet and I love Avenue B! Thanks for spreading the word!

  10. Are there any molecular gastronomy type restaurants in town? I feel like that’s a recipe for a fun/adventurous meal!

  11. You’re right. It was ego. If so, I hope she stays away from the GG universe. She is willing to push it under the bus just to serve her pride. That’s despicable. On a side note: wasn’t there a single soul trying to get some sense in that brain? 💵💵💵💵💵💵

  12. rory’s character arc is so incredibly realistic and relatable to me that it’s really surprising to see how many people hate her in later seasons. academically gifted high school students who starts struggling once she gets to college? happens all the time. young woman who becomes enthralled by a boyfriend introducing her to a life she’s only ever seen through the lens of her grandparents? makes perfect sense. young adult who feels lost mid-degree and takes time off, only to feel even more lost? yup. someone who has a lot of endless family support and seems to have everything you could need to succeed in life, only to still fumble around and end up making mistakes that disappoint that family? college graduate who was so ambitious, only to not be able to put that into action once they’re in the real world?

  13. All well said. I think it just comes down to storytelling. People defend Emily because the actress is amazing and her story is well told.

  14. Not even one of the most relatable characters on the show but I think her arc is a really relatable one too. Gilmore girls never does anything really scandalous rhar we can’t relate to, like there’s not really murders or anything crazy that are put in other similar shows. We literally could live a life like Rory

  15. Well, I think there are some privileged Logan shenanigans that are beyond the scope of most people’s lives.

  16. Also, another difference is that Lorelai was allowed to get a good education, allowed to go to an Ivy League or another college (before she got pregnant of course) Lane could've been the smartest kid in her classroom or Ivy League material but Mrs Kim would've still sent her to Adventist college

  17. I often wonder how things would have gone if Lane he rebelled by attending a traditional college.

  18. I think there's a few reasons why people aren't as hard on Mrs. Kim. Not saying any of them are correct, but these are the reasons I see:

  19. I also felt like because they were side characters they were flatter characters, used more for effect. Mrs Kim is exaggerated to the point of comedy. Like when Lorelai makes a comment about “locking Lane up and throwing away the key” and Mrs Kim says she didn’t throw away the key… that is meant to be a joke in the show. It obviously would not be okay to lock your kid up but this is an exaggeration to describe the style of parenting. I think all the discussion here is good and worth having but it’s important to keep the tone of the show in mind I think.

  20. Yeah, if you're heading west on 32, it's about a mile past The Devil's Backbone Tavern on your right.

  21. Depending where you go through and time you should stop at Abby janes for pasteries. I don’t head out that way often but it’s a mandatory stop for me

  22. I was definitely looking at stopping there, but it doesn’t open until 9! We’ll see how things go. Thanks :)

  23. Love this today, thanks for sharing!

  24. This was definitely the vibe I got… but it’s so nuts to trash your own show!

  25. Yeah I mentioned that in my post that they always referenced stuff, I just feel like these references in the original came out very naturally. In my opinion, they seemed stiff and forced in these revival episodes though

  26. It definitely hits differently. It’s like a clever reference versus a cringe reference.

  27. My advice is not to bother watching AYITL as it will ruin your feel good memories of the original GG series. Yes, it’s that horridly bad. The Only redeeming moments of the entire 4 season program are the final 5 minutes where Lorelai’s evening wedding scene is accompanied by the ‘Reflecting Light’ song.

  28. I wish there were just a shortened fan cut of AYITL with just some happy bits.

  29. The missed opportunity was Marty just being a friend. It would have been a breath of fresh air —a guy around Rory who is just a friend. Nothing more, nothing less. They could have expanded and explored Rory’s friendships in college instead of trying to make that Dean affair happen.

  30. I think it’s pretty fair for him to step away from the friendship when she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, but I think it was a HUGE missed opportunity to not use him as a friend when they brought him back. It would have been great for Rory to have a male, working-class Ivy League friend.

  31. I think when they came back for the 4 episodes, luke and Lorilai should have had a child. I probably would have done an entirely different story for those two rather than what they did. I feel like it really hurt Lukes character.

  32. I was really excited by the hiking scenes in the previews because I assumed it was Lorelai exploring nature with Luke! I feel like that is a missed opportunity that could have been so fun.But yes, a different storyline for their characters would have been better.

  33. the Papaya salad and the pad ka prow at thai kun are pretty crazy

  34. My Thai friend would always serve dinner with a box of tissues on the table.

  35. Completely fun fact : I live/vote in a working poor/low blue collar area. Voter turnout in the midterm election and yesterday was at presidential election levels. Growing up , most folks I knew were apathetic so it’s encouraging. (And I saw every walk of life(

  36. Actually you put all people in one bucket and nobody is. I don't give a crap about who people have sex with that's not my business. However putting it in a parade is not my values I wish my family to be forced to see. If someone wants to pretend they are a man or woman go ahead. When your 18 and fully accountable to your self for your own decisions. I personally have never worked at a job where people weren't paid equally by their skill set level. But I am not in denial that it happens to women or race background. I guess I haven't seen it. I have seen people promoted because of their race or gender or both. They have quota's to fulfill apparently. If I didn't like it or wasn't able to accept it I would have left or created my own company that promoted by level of ability only. This would include women or men regardless of race or religion. I am a free thinker I have my own set of values that I live by. Not some politician or majority standard. If all brown eyed people woke up one day and voted to eliminate all green eyed, blue eyed, hazel eyed, people. They could win that vote just based on numbers. So an equal minority vote is needed to assure stupid things like that never happen. I did read the Bill on issue 1 and I decided it was obviously wrong it made it nearly impossible to get an amendment on a ballot. Then it flipped the challenge from 51% to 60% to pass it. So 41 % to 59% would win a vote. Wrong. 88 counties required to gain enough signatures compared to 44 wrong. Can't go and show ID and have my signature validated within a 10 day period wrong. So in short it was wrong. All the way around. And if this was an attempt to stop Abortion that's ignorant because companies are paying for the flight the Abortion to a state that would allow it. This is ignorance to change the requirements needed for something that's going to happen anyway. Fortunately it failed. Now to pass recreational marijuana for example won't be dead in the water before it can even be voted on. No way I'm sure how I would vote on that. I do know I won't be buying it even for my pain. I can't afford a DUI for something I did last month. If they are going to legalize that they better come up with a real time test for it. I am not even sure they can. I know you will disagree with 80 to 99% of what I said in this reply. That's why you are a Democrat and I am a republican. But to close out here I will say it's Ironic that a republican majority supreme court took abortion from the states in 1973.... Wrong. Mistake, stupid, ignorance. So yes I can disagree with my party and life goes on. Doesn't make me a rino it means I can excersise my right to vote and follow my own conscience. I am sure there are people from both sides of the 2 major parties who do this. But rarely see it happen in congress😂 both sides of the isle have fools posted on their side.

  37. I disagree with you on these issues, but I appreciate your having good faith discussion!

  38. I think a pinned mega thread would be a good happy-medium.

  39. I was thinking about this too because I see them in other subs, but I don’t always like them as things get buried.

  40. I use a wash cloth to exfoliate my body, if I just use my hands I don’t feel clean enough

  41. Yeah, I switched to washcloth later in life and will never go back. Skin just feels way cleaner, especially my face.

  42. Is it an herby sage? Can you eat it?

  43. It’s technically not a true sage and from what I’ve read it’s toxic if ingested.

  44. Bummer a lot of sages are in that category. Still worth it for the pollinators!

  45. https://www.wildflower.org/learn/how-to/create-a-native-habiturf-lawn

  46. You know what is completely fucked is there is literally no line no wait at the Delaware BoE. This is so obviously done by design, one early voting center per county is voter disenfranchising

  47. This was really startling to me as I tried to figure out how to vote early. Definitely disenfranchising. Glad to see people turn out and fight for democracy regardless!

  48. Oh literally the state didn’t start getting a bigger and growing population until the invention of AC in like the 50s. Idk if the building is still around but there was a bar downtown off Lamar that still had an old sign advertising that it was air conditioned! It was such a big deal it was a marketing tool lol

  49. Not just the state, but the entire south! It was crazy to live here before AC!

  50. I have one basil plant going wild, my lemongrass isn’t doing too badly either. Every other thing is a wilted mess. I’m holding out hope for a good fall garden.

  51. I had trouble getting my basil started this year, but the one plant that made it is kicking butt! I really wanted to get some Thai basil and cardinal basil going… next year.

  52. Go to brunch. Or a coffee shop. Or a trendy museum. Sit where you can watch a lot of people walk by. People watch over your food/coffee/art and take note of outfits or items of clothing that seem to be a slight but intentional departure from what you would expect, whether in color, cut, accessories, or fabric. Pay particular attention when this item or outfit is repeated by multiple people. Repeat the exercise until this becomes second nature.

  53. My favorite exercise is to do this at airports! Very travel specific, but I find you can usually categorize everyone’s outfits! One of my favorite activities if I’m waiting for a flight.

  54. I was looking through some old files and found this recording of a 2003 parade going through Downtown Stamford. Since no other copies seemed to be available online I tossed it onto YouTube.

  55. I just bought one recently labeled a “tennis dress”. It is not in an athletic type material. I am delighted to see they’re back.

  56. There is definitely a tennis trend in fashion right now.

  57. I love to golf. It is fun and I’ve made many new friends playing regularly in ladies league.

  58. I have golfed exactly once in my life but it really took me aback how much strength was required and just how particular it was! It was like I was doing all kinds of moves I didn’t know were possible and I was sore in places I didn’t know existed! Really cool sport.
