I had shipped my husband's great-grandmother's dishes; I packed them with dish packaging, bubble wrap, and newspapers. The boxes were labeled fragile, all over the boxes. They showed up on my doorstep, looking like someone had played soccer with them. The dishes were shattered and destroyed. It took over a year to get FedEx to pay me, even though I had paid for insurance on all the boxes. Even then, they only covered 20-25% of the value. People who do stuff like this are legit assholes.
When I worked at FedEx last year I would see people throw the boxes that say fragile. I learned it's best not to put fragile on anything because you are just making it a target. It was terrible there.
