Essentially they are blurry because of noise from extremely high ISO, and diffraction from a narrow aperture. You may have also missed your focus? Did you manually select your settings?
There are several other great wildlife lenses for Z mount. Although to step up from the 180-600mm you would need to increase your budget a fair bit as well.

Rumours are of a “Z9h”, which would be an even faster shooting variant with a (roughly) 24MP sensor for the olympics. Which would presumably also have slightly improved lowlight ISO performance, unless they went with a global shutter.

Depending on your budget, but a used XC or XF 35mm F2 lens would be my first choice for an excellent and affordable Fuji lens.

As a photographer no, the specular highlights just don’t look real.

I didn’t switch per se, but I had a Fuji x-t20 for hiking when I didn’t want to lug my D850 and FF lenses up a mountain.

Main issue is less precision when manually focusing.
