I have hundreds of hours on a Q2/3 in iracing and definitely enjoy it. I feel the Q3 is a substantial upgrade to the 2. I used to run over virtual desktop, but have since switched exclusively to hard wired.
Hi, do you have a youtube video or tutorial how to replace the tinyhawk spi RX to XM+ ? I only managed to replace the VTX. Now I want to replace the RX aswell. Thanks.
Some tracks with VR you do lose half your framerates (as it's having to render 2 displays over just 1) As a example (with the fps limiter on) I get 84 fps solid every race on a display. When I use quest 3, some tracks I get between 60 and 80fps, but on some tracks like laguna seca, I only get 32fps. But remember, your eyes can only process a maximum of around 30fps to a maximum of 60fps (for most people it's actually around 24fps) so if it's still running at 30 it should be fine and hardly noticeable. But if it's really causing a problem, make sure all apps are closed apart from Iracing and meta (plus race labs ect if you use it) but definitely don't leave Chrome open ect. Reduce the number of visable cars and decrease the quality of mirrors (you could even turn off car mirrors and use the UI mirror). Lower crowd quality, medium texture quality, low pit objects, medium foilage, headlights on tracks in mirrors off, high quality trees off, two pass trees off, and turn up resolution scaling a little.
Sorry but that stuff about only being able to process 30fps just doesn't make any sense to me. Most people can easily see a difference between 30fps and 60fps when playing games. I certainly wouldn't want to use VR at 30fps.
I have the round wheel that came with the Moza R5, but I've been tempted by the Formula Wheel Mod, it's only £40 as well. I race both open wheel and GT, but mostly GT4 and GR86 at the moment.
My PW2's screen is fucked. I don't even know how it happened. I think I stood on it during the night after it had fallen in the floor in a room I was staying in. Wish I'd got a protector now!
It's hard enough arresting a single violent person on their own, let alone potentially several people, in a large crowd, whilst trying to protect someone who could simply have been prevented from putting themselves in danger.
Gt4s at imola this week got me wishing for zandvoort back. My first week in a gt4 was there and I was killing it. That track is so much fun felt so fast. At imola I feel should be an easier track and cannot string consistent laps down. Can't get anything going consistent. I'm the problem I know, but zandvoort just made sense.
They've got a Drive to Survive style series on YouTube as well which is pretty good. There's three seasons of it, although I've only been watching the latest one.
I had to uninstall my brake mod due to being sat at a desk with the pedals on carpet, the pedals moved too much due to the stiffer brake. Very annoying.
Not really much feedback to give, I watched the whole thing and found it really useful. I'm looking forward to hopefully improving my lap times when I play later. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I'm like a month into iracing too and was similar to you, been in formula 4 past couple of weeks and really liking this car. Never liked oval, but the oval races are damn fun. Having a hard time getting into the sports car races right now so that's prob my 3rd favorite. So give oval a try, just started the Arca series
Try the GR86, it's pretty fun to drive with some close racing, and it's free. I've moved on to GT4 now, I did get a TCR car which I loved but there's much better participation in GT4 (5+ splits each race).
Change tyres as little as possible. TCR is awful on cold tyres so you lose a ton of time - but luckily the tyres do last for one million miles each. I did the last NEC solo in the Civic and did not change tyres at any time.
You can flip to the tyres black box using F5 (I think - if not it's one of the F keys) and there'll be a checkbox next to each tyre. Tick to change, untick to not change.
I played the 98-99 season at my friend's house, but the first one I got myself was 00-01. I played it constantly during GCSE study leave, took Telford to the Premier League.
Yeah buddy, it is so addictive. The idea of the rewarding system SR/iR touches the human nature of need to progress so much hahaha… my wallet suffered already a lot but it is so rewarding for my mental health.
Yeah it's definitely expensive, I've jumped between a few series as well which hasn't helped. Trying not to think too much about the cost though, but then I am terrible with money so that's nothing new.
I've been really struggling with this track in GT4, until I just slowed down. I was attacking most of the corners way too fast. Finally got into a groove during a race and put in two PB laps in a row. Only 1:27s but that's good for me. Plus I finished 4th ☺️

It's free, and doing pretty much same thing as RaceLab
RaceLabs is free as well if you're only using the basic overlays like standings and relative, which is all I need really.
So it's not free to use every function of it ;)
