  1. It’s not free, but renting kayaks or paddle boards at Creve Coeur Lake is rather inexpensive. And the park has two different disc golf courses that are free to use. (If you have discs of course)

  2. I’d like to see it get a console release. I know they’re on steam, but only for PC and I have a Mac. Oh well.

  3. A few years back, St Louis County and City combined had more murders than all of NYC. Granted NYC had a record low amount of murders but still. 8M people versus the 1.5M here… not good. Granted it doesn’t stop me from going into the city and enjoying life, but I wish we didn’t pretend that everything was rosy.

  4. Get a hot tub! That’s what I did! Otherwise, yard games are always big fun. Corn hole if you’re feeling trashy and basic. Bocce. Pétanque if you want to be fancy. Croquet is an underrated classic.

  5. I have a Viking Regal ETS that cost me about that much. It fits four people comfortably, five people well. Six if you squeeze, and 7 you REALLY like each other. Viking is a good budget brand if you want to start looking there.

  6. Theepicenter.com is where I buy mine. You can order full meals to just entrees or sides.

  7. We’ll have Fallout Season 5 before Fallout 5 :(

  8. I frankly don’t even understand this. It’s been 13 years since Skyrim without any release date even set for ES6. I know Bethesda makes money reselling Skyrim to us rubes on every platform, but come on. This gap in between games is just plain silly. How can it even be profitable?

  9. Apparently you’re married to Peggy Hill. You have my condolences.

  10. I mean SNW also has Drummer from the Expanse soooo....

  11. Not gonna lie, I thought it was same actress even for longer than I care to admit.

  12. Frog enzymes. I let frogs live in my hot tub, and I scoop them out whenever I want to use it. The frogs release an enzyme that keep the water clear, and if I get hungry they make a great hot tub snack! It gives me at least another 13-14 months between water changes if not 6 years.

  13. Just parroting what other people are saying, but a Terry cloth robe is a game changer.

  14. Frog enzymes. I let frogs live in my hot tub, and I scoop them out whenever I want to use it. The frogs release an enzyme that keep the water clear, and if I get hungry they make a great hot tub snack!

  15. My water can look a little green upon first fill, but after a day it looks fine.

  16. I lived in Austin for nearly 20 years and moved to St.louis for the very reason that Austin became too "vibrant". The problem with Downton Austin is it is the only place everyone wants to be. Events are crowded, sweaty, and slow moving. Parking is impossible and traffic in and out of downtown is a nightmare. Everything is over priced and under quality.

  17. I visited Austin a few years ago and while it was gorgeous, the traffic was just stupid. Total nightmare to get anywhere. But gosh, it was so pretty kayaking in the middle of the city.

  18. I drain and scrub and refill after every use, except for the time I went an entire year decade without doing anything. The water had frogs living in it, but everyone knows that frog enzymes keep the water clean and decreases the need for chlorine based sanitizing methods.

  19. I moved out of stl a few years ago but for me it was the tall black dude who could regularly be found rollerblading around Creve Coeur Lake while belting out show tunes.  I skate too and that guy was pretty fast.  Pretty good voice, too.

  20. I love this guy. Haven’t been to the lake in forever. Is he still around?

  21. He was at least last year. Now it’s getting warmer and we’re getting into kayaking season I’ll be on the look out (listen out?) for him.

  22. Love this guy, and I love that other people love him too.

  23. I think the Iraq war wars a maneuver to install a loyalist regime for this very reason

  24. Yes, that’s pretty much it. GWB thought we could recreate Germany in the Middle East and use them Iraq as a base for further American efforts in the region.

  25. Yeah that’s what I do, “hot tub only” suits that i rinse out and hang dry. Also…I don’t invite others to use it; my hot tub is basically for “immediate family use only”

  26. But getting my friends over to tub with me a os a big part of why I bought mine!

  27. I loved them. Especially the one with green pudding in them.

  28. Honestly there isn't much preventing people from just wheeling whole carts of shit out of the store. One greeter, a couple cashiers, and like one AP dude who has no legal rights to stop you? At least they staff the deli and electronic sections... kind of.

  29. I worked AP in college at a target 20 years ago. We absolutely carried handcuffs and used them. I don’t know if corporate policies have changes though.

  30. I’m Jewish and the descendant of Holocaust survivors. My grandpa was a boy when he went into a concentration camp, and left when he was a young teen. He lost his entire family and developed diabetes as a result of the malnutrition he suffered. Apparently he stayed in Europe for some time afterwards trying to earn some money and find his family, who had all died, and he said his treatment in a French refugee camp ran by bigoted French antisemites after the war was almost as bad as his treatment under the Nazis.

  31. People also don’t realize how the Holocaust happened because EVERYONE in Europe helped. “Only” about 200k of the 6M Jews murdered were German. The rest were from conquered or allied territory. And only about half were murdered in camps. The rest were killed by either SS members or LOCAL paramilitary forces on the spot as the German army rolled through villages. There was so much collaboration going on, that it’s frankly a crime that it’s covered up and considered a uniquely German problem.

  32. Admittedly some of the things we did for “safety” was stupid. Like band kids cutting a hole in their mask to put an instrument mouthpiece through

  33. Masking outdoors and closing all the parks in the spring and summer was the height of crazy. At the time it seemed to make sense… but it was an extreme over reaction.

  34. Will people really refuse to fly Boeing? People talk a big game, but in the end they’ll fly on whatever is available. People have really short attention spans and memories.
