  1. They were probably making NY wages though and capitalizing on CT.’s cheaper housing. And the reason for the cheaper housing is because the State is hyper Business Centric and wages are exceptionally low for non-Union Workers. It’s like a few bucks more than Florida, so it makes all the Union people live like Doctors. If you’re non-Union on CT. you’re completely fucked and relying on having a 2nd income from a spouse, and no kids.

  2. It’s not cheaper in the sense most people think. You just get more space typically. What you save in property tax you pay for in housing cost. Also the schools are far better without the regents. Ct seems to pay more per student. The worst schools in CT still give students laptops etx

  3. Do y'all fly out of an airport there for travel? Do any touring acts come close by or are you driving to Richmond for stuff like that?

  4. It happens all the time. We armed the ever loving god out of afghanistan and Iraq.

  5. Yep. Pretty stupid. There is a relatively now well known audio of Hitler discussing the Eastern front debacle with Mannheim and pointing out what they thought they would find and what they found. At least in terms of tanks etc.

  6. Big Stew too busy killing people with food allergies and keeping the competition out.

  7. 100% put that shit in Belfast where it belongs. I would even accept Southampton or New York, not fucking Vegas

  8. I’m actually related to the iceberg in question. So I get slagged off quite a lot over the whole thing.

  9. So I’m still confused over what the AWC allows. Can you now put a stock on your rifle?

  11. It’s everywhere now where I live. Mainly along the roads on verges etc where people don’t treat or live.

  12. Felonies, loss of gun ownership rights, job loss, exorbitant fines, property loss. Other than that, not much.

  13. You said in another comment Austin is too expensive and traffic ridden so decide to recommend a much more expensive and more traffic ridden area. Makes sense

  14. It goes with the territory. Basically the entire Bos - wash megalopolis doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is. Also it’s not that expensive with rent shares etc.

  15. Does the world invest money in conference centers dedicated to brokering peace anymore?

  16. That interchange gives me so much anxiety even before I got rear-ended there last year.

  17. The state demanded that they supply power and eversource thought that was unreasonable.

  18. If they don’t want to be here they can leave, I’m sure some other company would gladly take their place. They are predatory, and seems to have a lot of the public sector in their pockets. I just read that the former Waterbury mayor now works for eversource

  19. Why even bother pulling them out. Frankly most will die as soon as it gets hot and we go a few days without rain. Perhaps one in your yard in a shaded spot may make it to sapling.

  20. This is my answer. You rip through Rhode Island on 150 mph track seeing 135 mph on Acela. It crawls through Connecticut. The Devon River Bridge in Connecticut is 30 mph and there are a bunch of other 30 mph zones. The State of Connecticut owns the track west of New Haven and refuses to spend the money to maintain it properly. There are four moveable bridges on the New Haven Line that are more than 100 years old. The signaling system is obsolete with no firm plan to fix it. There are thousands of railroad ties that need to be replaced. Something like 10,000 just on the New Haven Line part.

  21. We’re keeping New York from slowly taking over all of New England. It’s a thankless job. So you are welcome

  22. Should do a reverse circle. ‘Real estate agents trying to convince you this is commutable’ on the far outer circle and ‘real estate agents trying to convince you this is the countryside’ on the next to inner circle.

  23. So interesting story as I have a personal connection to Sybil. It was indeed my fourth great grandfather who, in the army, took a shot but, sadly for him, missed.

  24. Just looking for new spots people love whether it's tacos sandos I don't care just as long as it's worth checking out. Always seeking new spots in and around town...

  25. It’s a weird one. I thought it a good post and love the ideas. But you are getting flamed for something so innocuous as a definition. Reddit hive mind I guess.

  26. I mean I get it. But tacos, pasties, empanadas, sandwiches, hot dogs, etc all inhabit a similar space where a quick and easy meal is packaged in some sort of carb based wrapper.

  27. Yeah, what does he do? Does he get social security? Does he have to work? How does he survive?

  28. This could be a Bradford pear that has been espaliered (grown to conform to a wall).

  29. I could buy that. It certainly has the right leaves. Could also be any number of apple or pear species, though.
