I remember how incompetent Donald Trump was before Covid, all the things he gutted and fucked up… and then the dread of realizing HE was going to be the one in charge during a PANDEMIC. And he handled it exactly as poorly as I thought he would. He didn’t just allow the virus to spread, he was outright an ALLY of the virus. Told people it wasn’t real, told people to inject bleach into their arms and convinced tens of millions of Americans that horse dewormer was people medicine… When Trump asks if we were better off, I think to myself, is the dread better? Is the the abject horror of people I know getting sick and dying all around me better? Are the needless deaths of a million people better?
The car cleaners work at night. They don't do much and sleep more than they clean. I knew someone who was an NJ Transit car cleaner, and that's what he told me.
