  1. Funny how people love to celebrate revolutionaries fighting fascism but always feel the need to leave out that it is the Communists always at the frontline of the war on fascism.

  2. They also formed the two greatest surviving fascist empires, Russia/SovietUnion and the PRC, so I'm not sure how much credit they should get.

  3. It was about someone DDOSing him early in his streaming career. If I remember it right, he equated it to someone coming and slashing your tires every morning so you couldn't work. But the police or anyone won't do anything about it. In that case, he thinks he's morally okay to hurt/kill said person. I don't agree with this, but I think that's what his argument is

  4. To characterize "slashing someone's tires every day" particularly for a person that simply can't work whenever they have slashed tires, as "annoying someone" seems very very unfair.

  5. I thought you were just trolling initially but depending on the situation sure. If you have an individual who was dedicating all his resources and time to occupying your home, with seemingly no excuse for it other than to kick you out of your own home just to harm you, and this individual had been continuously repeating this for 75 years, then I don't see what the big deal would be if you killed this individual to be able to not be homeless.

  6. Is the probability of a new holocaust for Jews in the next 80 years greater than 1%?

  7. Because a collective group of women wouldn’t do this without cause. Also, he’s clearly assaulting a woman in the beginning of the shot.

  8. heat is energy, energy is mass, yes

  9. A simplistic reading of this suggests that people think the correct notion of mass is relativistic mass rather than the typical (rest) mass.

  10. Yes, which is outdated in Physics. For example, the energy of atoms moving at higher energies contributes to the momentum component of energy, not mass...

  11. I've agreed for a long time, but 13 hours ago I went to the opposite position. If you'd deconvert me out of this disreputable position I'd really appreciate.

  12. It feels good until then you realise no society should have to have kids working to support their family.

  13. No society should have to have people who need to work to survive, we should never have to put effort into staying alive.

  14. I'm half joking, I half mean it, I half think it's a really dumb statement.

  15. Is this sub actually inhabited by libertarians? What the fuck happened to this sub maybe ever since around 6 months ago?

  16. How does it hurt? If I glance at it but really quickly will I still get damaged?

  17. Old comment but I totally agree with you OP. I haven't used obsidian yet but it seems like a great alternative to a solution I use now. I primarily use my phone for notes and computer for writing and obsidian prices are not great :(. $8/month for basic syncing you would expect from any app is way too much. Something along $4/month - maybe. But for $8/month you can get tons of sync/store/many alternative uses options like Google Drive or ICloud it's just too expensive for just one application with limited use. So now I'm on the fence because first I can't afford this price and second I don't even know if the product is great (everyone say it is but I prefer to check and see myself) or will work for my needs. Spending hours trying to use it on one device just to realize I can't afford to sync it will be a bummer. Trying to decide which subscription is more important on a very tight budget - a storage and multiple applications of Google or Obsidian - well, no matter how i like obsidian i need google more. Other mentioned storage sync but also bugs with bigger sizes? Not great!

  18. It is a bit late for me... As I have been coding for over 20 years now and have masters in software engineering.

  19. Do you have any hobbies? Anything you like doing on your free time or that you're passionate about?

  20. Oh, okay. I'm not sure if Obsidian Sync downloads ALL notes and attachments to your phone or if things are downloaded as needed. Maybe someone can comment on that.

  21. The first question is if two people can mutually exploit each other? (ofc they can if they do it at different times, so at the same time, same transanctin, etc)

  22. As to the first question, suppose Bob and Jill are trading. Bob is giving up his Widget for Jill’s Whatsit, and Jill her Whatsit for Bob’s Widget. Bob loves his Widget, and would not voluntarily trade it for any purpose except to own a single Whatsit. Jill loves her Whatsit, and would not voluntarily trade it for any purpose except to own a single Widget. Neither has any desire to own more than one of their beloved items.

  23. So how much Bob has, and how much Jill has, are fundamental to what makes something exploitation. And another point is that you can be exploitative by accident, as they are here. I'm not sure if you mean to imply that that's the jist of what happens in mutually exploitative trades. But okay, interesting. Thank you for sharing! : )

  24. Well, I wasn't expecting that reply. Read them multiple times, it might even be my favorite fictional book/series-of-books of all time, but alright, maybe it was another three-body-trilogy that I dreamed up. What can I say...

  25. The way people, specially scientists, talk in the series is laughably awkward.

  26. probably something regarded. we should just move on from this worthless "scholar". it's honestly not even entertaining anymore

  27. Sorry about your aunt but this is no excuse to commit genocide sooooo…

  28. Super uncool about your aunt getting raped and then slaughtered or whatever sweaty, but some people died to a missile💅

  29. How doo microwaves damage the eyes? There's a guy who literally puts a microwave to his face and feels some heat iirc, are you saying his eyes were damaged but he didn't notice it?

  30. They might have been. Cataracts can develop at microwave radiation levels with power densities of 100mw/cm2. That said, I've been doing some research on this in the past couple days and happened to come across a fact that microwave ovens are supposed to be limited to having microwave power levels of 5mw/cm2 or less two inches away from the surface of the microwave oven frame, so he probaby wasn't getting enough exposure to create cataracts or damage his eyes.

  31. Mike Israetel's side channel Making Progress is him going down the exact path that I'd expect to see from someone due for a decoding. He's as libertarian bro as anyone in the game. Good content for muscle building, fat loss, and dieting, but pure garbage for serious political or social commentary.

  32. What is a Zionist? Is being pro the existence of Israel enough?

  33. Andrej Bauer - Proof of negation and proof by contradiction

  34. Judaism doesn't end with the Torah, there's gmarah Mishna Talmud (bavli and yerushalmi) and more and more extended texts that expand the religious systems based in the Torah, developed discussed and changed through hundreds of years by Jewish rabbis.

  35. Oops, sorry. Thanks for the reply btw! : ) I'll look more into it after I wake up. I do want to get more informed on the topic, finishing the whole Torah is a tough way to do it but I don't know of a much better method at the moment.
