  1. Curious why you picked the 2nd Matrix. Not here to throw shade. I'm one of the few who liked them all. But what was it about that one that made it part of your list?

  2. The love/fate development in regards to the creator and how Neo is an anomaly, how he's the first one to choose love and how he can't stand to see Trinity die, even though she's fated to, he beats that. I find their love to be the most beautiful/the one that's touched me the most that I've seen in a movie.

  3. Incredible answer. I don't know you, but I like you.

  4. Learning Japanese. Started out just messing around on Duolingo and it snowballed into something that has completely taken over my life.

  5. Did we completely forget that there are agencies built specifically to sew discord on platforms specifically like the one we're currently on?

  6. It's a good time to mention now that anyone who sees this content should try their best to separate their emotions from the content that they are watching. Contacting the relevant public offices should be done as well.

  7. I'd like to add The Chaos Machine to the list of materials for responsible internet literacy. Also, The Mueller Report was surprisingly enlightening. The gist, everything that everyone is fighting about on the internet, at any time, is being fueled and manipulated either by state-sanctioned shady actors or the states themselves. And social media companies will do as little as legally required to stop it because outrage = engagement. It is bafflingly irresponsible.

  8. IMO America's greatest contribution to the world

  9. Don't bother yourself with questions like that. The only thing that matters is that life is too short to worry about it.

  10. I heard it was trash. Loved Unbreakable. Want to see Glass (I’ve owned it a few years, with Split), but cannot get into starting Split. I don’t know why. Really enjoy McAvoy, but just did not want to see him in this role. Dunno why. I felt it would change my positive attitude towards him.

  11. It wasn't exactly trash, but it wasn't great either. And it didn't really move McAvoy up or down any tiers as an actor in my book. But I legitimately don't understand the praise people have for this performance. It felt like watching the demo reel of a really talented amateur actor. It was a role with a lot of potential, and I'm not saying it was wasted on McAvoy, it just felt... cheap.

  12. What is this? A thoughtful critique from OP in this subreddit?

  13. I love the Voyagers so much! I know this is silly, but it warms my cold little heart to hear that it is still chugging away after 47 years. It is by a long shot the farthest thing we have ever sent into space, and it has already travelled much farther than anyone thought it could function for.

  14. Maybe the internet has jaded me a little bit, but I don't think I believe cats actually typed this.

  15. Was the actor on the left of the pic in Roger Rabbit?

  16. Raul Julia? No. I think you're thinking of Christopher Lloyd.

  17. Says it’s pollen and such… or am I missing something?

  18. How it was explained to me was that there's a lot of industry on the west side of town and the wind comes in from the west. Because a lot of Cincinnati is a valley, the wind blows in those pollutants where they just sit like they're in a bowl. So people with respiratory issues can really struggle here.

  19. Did you really make this post before trying to talk to her about it ??

  20. The absolute lack of self awareness in OP is staggering.

  21. According to her? "Japan." (According to me? Good food, pretty streets, nice people, a street cat or two.)

  22. Haha well street cars are nice too. Sapporo is on the list.

  23. Good luck! I'm sure it'll be amazing regardless of where you choose.

  24. Haha never watched any of his movies besides Solaris, but that one was great. What do you suggest I watch that was made by him?

  25. Stalker is a classic. Based on the book Roadside Picnic (which spawned the Stalker video game series, if you're familiar), but it's a very loose adaptation - more inspired by. If you're not familiar with the lore, I'll leave it up to you to look it up before watching the movie if you decide to. I don't know what it would be like to watch it and not know anything about the world. Could add something to the experience. Could take away. Idk.

  26. Imagine if a cheeseburger rescued you from drowning

  27. Hope lube isn't flammable... for a variety of reasons.

  28. Now I'm invested. Keep us posted. I hope you win.
