Thanks for the tip. Will definitely give this a try. I shoot JPEG the majority of the time, but it seems like PureRaw4 doesn't really complicate the workflow that much.
There is also Topaz Labs Photo AI and some others, I'm sure. I'm a Fujifilm owner (X-T3) and am pleased with the camera and lenses I have but have been reading about M43 and might rent an OM-1 and lens one of these days.
This is why I’m tending towards the 70-300, I feel like the 100-400 is superior but that’s irrelevant if I don’t use it. I feel like the image quality and reach compromise with the 70-300 is worth it for the more usable / portable size.
I have to walk a long way to get to where I want to go at our local wildlife area and the 70-300 with 1.4X teleconverter is the max weight I'm willing to carry; I'm pleased with this combo. The 70-300 without the TC is also a good general use lens when more reach than the 18-55 is desired.

I sold my 55-200 to get the 70-300 for wildlife, but the 55-200 is an excellent lens and seems to me that it would work well for your uses.

In what way is it more similar to the x100v? I know the xs20 has IBIS which the x100v does not. But the megapixel count is closer to the x100v.
X-S20 has X-Processor 5 (same as X100vI) and X100V has X-Processor 4.
What’s the benefit to the t5 over the s20? Aside from the megapixel and weather sealing?
T5 has pixel shift multi-shot mode which can produce 160 MP images. T5 has dual card slots and a larger EVF.
I bought an X-T3 for the faster autofocus, but I had an X-T20 which is fine camera for stills and you can find those for around $500.

Awe, yeah the xt30-ii does kinda feel like a toy in my hands haha.
I had an X-T20, same size as this camera, and unless I wanted the camera to be as compact as possible I preferred using it with a Meike hand grip.
