I really hope it gets a blu ray or 4K. It would be a great title for Kino Lorber or Arrow. I just saw the transfer too and it's phenomenal. They actually restored it. This isn't some SD upscale. It blows the fan made 4K upscale out of the water. The film has never looked this good even when it was released in theaters.
I am buying less 4Ks than in the past period because my budget is a lot tighter. So I buy blu ray instead of 4K if I can get a good deal and it fits in my budget.

If you have a soundbar that can handle HDMI passthrough for DV and Atmos? Connect the 820 to the soundbar instead of the TV the audio is processed better that way versus connecting the player to the TV and using Earc for the soundbar. Best combo is Earc from soundbar to TV plus player using Hdmi on Soundbar.
Eh. None of them were the size I could actually fit in my small space and I cannot afford to buy another OLED anyway. So it was not that big of a deal for me personally. But I can see if you have the cash and the space that it would be a bit of a painful moment.
I have a 48 inch C2 and the up scaling is really good. And I had an X85K before and in all honesty I think the C2 looks better. But then again I am also using an Oppo 203 that does it's own extra upscaling.
Yeah, I found that out. I don't really utilize HDMI 2.1 or 4K in 120hz since I don't game and I haven't been able to watch anything with hz that high before or after using the soundbar for pass through. So it's not that big of a deal for me personally.

For me it's hands down Tanya Roberts as Stacey Sutton in A View to a Kill. The epitome of dead weight. She even gets trapped at some point in the film and Bond has to save her. And she's constantly whinging. It's like Kate Capshaw in Temple of Doom but nowhere near as charming.
I know people are advising against buying OLEDs second hand. And I get it. No warranty, no guarantee if it's going to last, etc. etc. But I bought my C2 second hand last december and it's been great. And I only paid a little over 600 for it. It's just about the right deal and if you are willing to take the risk. I wouldn't recommend taking the risk though on an 8 year old OLED. Grab a C series if you can find one that is in working order with low screen time.
It's abhorrently awful and no it doesn't stand up on it's own as a good sci-fi action/revenge movie either. It sucks at being that too. A lifeless cinematic corpse that has as much soul as the rubber suit Joel Kinnaman wears in the film. I do not understand how fans of this franchise can watch this and think it's so much better than RoboCop 2 even with that sequels flaws. If you ask me due to how pointless, boring, badly made and and forgettable this film is, I honestly think it's one of the worst remakes of the 2010's and the worst RoboCop piece of media. I would take a marathon of RoboCop 3, The Series, Prime Directives, and both cartoons over this pile of RoboBukkake.
I am in the minority that still prefers the theatrical cut. It's paced better and while the special edition has a pretty major part of the climax put in? It doesn't make up for weakening the core message of the film which is less about some big wave and more about how the love two people share restores faith in humanity. I prefer the simplicity of the theatrical cut.
What in the heck are you even talking about? This transfer is easily the best the film has ever looked on any format in any capacity on home video. It does not look anything remotely close to a VHS let alone how it did on TV back in the day on TBS.
This guy just makes me want to punch the screen every time I see his fake goofy ass smile. And the fact that he's one of those YouTubers who has an over inflated sense of importance and can't take criticism makes him hate him even more. He actively deletes negative comments all the time. I hope this video destroys his rep even more. He needs to be taken down a few more pegs. He always has given me this annoying influencer vibe. And he's so defensive too which just makes it even worse.

The Studio Canal release has better picture quality but it's bare bones and has absolutely zero special features. That's the main difference if you ask me.

1000 percent yes. Even if you don't have a Samsung Q990 series and just a 5.1 Vizio. But with a better soundbar you get better Atmos.
