  1. Once you've mega evolved a pokemon for the first time, you can walk anything from that evolution line for more energy. You also unlock a cooldown timer on the specific pokemon that you mega evolved so that you can mega evolve it again for free after waiting 7 days. So you should mega evolve your Diancie sooner, rather than later so that you unlock the ability to walk it for more energy and the 7-day free mega cooldown. As you keep mega evolving it and get it to higher mega levels, the cost to mega evolve with energy will decrease and the cooldown timer will get shorter.

  2. There must be something I don’t understand about how the battle mechanics work. I’m challenging rocket boss for the first time, and he leads with Persian, so I swap to Machamp for an easy stomp and it doesn’t say I’m super-effective. His second Pokémon was Garchomp, I throw in an Alolan sandslash who is ice type and it doesn’t say I’m super-effective either.

  3. The first move listed that doesn't have an energy bar next to it is your pokemon's fast move. This is the attack that they use any time you tap on the screen, which deals constant damage and charges up your pokemon's charge move. This move can be changed by using a Fast TM.

  4. You can remove Frustation during Rocket Takeover events. These events normally happen once per season, so the next one will probably be in June, July, or August. An exact date is unknown.

  5. Since we normally get one per 3-month season, the next one probably won't happen until June, July, or August.

  6. The Galarian birds have an extremely low catch rate and an extremely high flee rate, so they will almost always break out and flee after one or two throws.

  7. The person trading away the pokemon from 2016-2018 needs to have participated in fewer than 25 guaranteed lucky trades using older pokemon. If you are receiving the pokemon from 2016-2018, it doesn't matter how many guaranteed lucky trades you have done, although if the trade is a guaranteed lucky trade, it will increment the receiver's counter by one.

  8. that’s unfortunate… thanks a lot for the info tho. I was so pumped for a lucky one, so imagine my disappointment when it turned out not to be the case and then finished me off with that 1 star appraisal…

  9. On the bright side, a Beldum Community Day Classic seems inevitable, so hopefully you'll be able to take advantage of that whenever it does happen.

  10. I'm guessing since I didn't get much Mega Diancie energy during the three day "event" I'm just out of luck? Not sure how much I got but I was busy preparing for a trip so it wasn't much.

  11. The Glitz & Glam special research gives 400 energy, so you'll have plenty to Mega Evolve it for the first time.

  12. Would a squirtle from it’s original community day (July 2018) be a guaranteed lucky if I traded it with someone?

  13. Yes, as long as the person trading away that Squirtle has participated in fewer than 25 guaranteed lucky trades using older pokemon.

  14. It's special research, so there's no time limit. You can take asong as you need to finish it and get Diancie.

  15. Often times, Special Research that's tied to the current season unlocks in parts over the course of the season. Until the next part unlocks, you'll just get that message from Willow to check back later.

  16. Just keep Primal Kyogre in your 6th slot. When Kyogre ends up on the field, immediately back out, heal up your team, and jump back in. That way, you can keep up the higher DPS with Kartana and Shadow Raikou while still boosting your teammates. Primal Kyogre only needs to be in your party in order to boost teammates, so you don't actually need to directly fight the raid boss with it.

  17. That is what I am planning on doing currently, but shadows are extremely glassy, so I was wondering if it was fine if I was attacking with my kyogre for 30 seconds, compared to other relevant mons

  18. I guess it depends on how many people you are raiding with. With larger groups, you're probably fine to do that, but if you're trying to short-man, I would avoid using the Primal Kyore to fight and just keep it in the back of the party to boost.

  19. Keep in mind that we could be waiting years for the next Diancie, and even then it could be a paid-exclusive shiny.

  20. After the biome background update, regional spawns seem to be randomized between players. The IVs are the same, but the actual species seems to be randomly rolled from all possible regional spawns for that area. Whether it's a bug or intentional seems to be unknown, but I'm guessing it's a bug.

  21. It's about on-par with notable heavy-hitters like Walrein, Floatzel, and Wailord (it's bad).

  22. Oh wow this was super helpful thank you. Im assuming there's no way to ensure which rocket go grunt spawns?

  23. Unfortunately, no. The Male Typeless grunt is also one of the more uncommon grunts, and even if you do find him, there's no way to guarantee that he has Mudkip instead of Treecko or Torchic.

  24. Sounds like I'm raiding for rare candies then until he's back in spawn pool. When do seasons change?

  25. The next season will run from June 1st to September 1st.

  26. If you buy the Wonder Ticket at any point before the season ends on June 1st, you will get all of the associated timed research that comes with it. So even if you buy it now, you will get the March, April, and May timed research. You have until June 14th to complete all 3. You can see all tasks and rewards

  27. You have a small chance of getting one from the 7-day research breakthrough box, but only if you have fewer than 3 Remote Passes in your inventory when you open the box (otherwise, you'll get a Premium Pass instead).

  28. Not currently. Since you got the Diancie research from Go Fest last year, the new research should just give you Diancie candy instead of an encounter.

  29. Do you have a tag called evolve ? If so, that causes funky behavior when using a reserved search term with the same name.

  30. Since we normally get one per season, the next should happen some time in June, July, or August.

  31. If they keep with the current pattern of regional tour events every year, then hopefully it'll get a global release for Kalos Tour in 2026.

  32. Any type of battle counts. Gyms, raids, Rockets, leader training, friend battles, GBL, etc.

  33. Do they have to be your buddy at the same time?

  34. Yes, the Primeape has to be your current buddy, but it does not have to be in the battle party.

  35. IIRC, they did this for Johto tour for the roaming legendaries. Entei, Suicune, and Raikou were given "S" forms, and those were the ones that spawned in the wild. These forms were totally identical to their regular forms, but since players had never caught the "S" form before, they would show up as shadows on the nearby radar, making it easy to track them down until you caught your first of each. They did the same thing with Latios and Latias during the Hoenn Tour.

  36. So they don’t have any differences other than they were caught in the wild?

  37. Yeah, there should be no noticable differences between the two forms. They were just set up as a bit of a hacky way to get them to show up in the nearby radar again for players that already caught them in raids.

  38. There's no way to know from the map, but when you're on the catch screen, there will be a pokeball icon to the left of their name if you've registered that pokemon in your pokedex before. This won't tell you if you need to register their evolution in the dex, though.

  39. It wasn't officially announced when it would leave, but since it came into raids as part of the Registeel rotation, it will most likely leave on the 2nd when Tapu Fini replaces Registeel.

  40. But the hp in pokemon Go is literally worse. How does that work.

  41. Stats work differently between the two games.

  42. The Marshadow encounter will be part of the Global Go Fest event on July 13-14. When you play during the event hours on those days, you'll get a Special Research that results in a Marshadow encounter.
