  1. Anything? Literally any punishment for Luke is better than doing NOTHING

  2. You shouldn't punish someone for defensive violence, Aemond could have killed one or all of them he has a giant rock in his hands, he's bigger than all of them, and is bloodlusted. It was justified self defense at that (unfortunate) point.

  3. Was it even stated that it was “defensive violence”before Viserys? No. Because they never needed to say as much. They just needed to say that he called them out for their bastardy.

  4. Well I assumed everyone concluded the self defense part from the blood and the broken nose. Certainly you and I both didn't want the scene to include the kids giving a play by play narration of how things went down the previous scene, you get me?

  5. Might be. It was dark and the view isn't clear due to castle walls. Its been a long time since I watched hotd. Doesn't make it any less abusive though. And he checks around to see no one's there because he knows what he is doing is wrong. That's so shitty and evil.

  6. Oh 100% I'm not arguing. Fuck Otto in every way.

  7. I'm not clicking that because I don't want spoilers lmao. I did finish season 1 though. Does this potentially spoil anything past that?

  8. I don’t know if it’s a problem of paying attention or do they just lack the supplemental information that the real fans of the show has but the casual viewers’ understanding of the show can very quite concerning. I talked to some casual fans as well and they thought 1. Aemond is the only one from team Green with a dragon. 2. Vermithor is Daemon’s 2nd dragon.

  9. You can hate Alicent but come on dude. Both Larys and Alicent's actors have gone into depth about that scene, both gave great performances where she was visibly uncomfortable and he was enjoying the power he has over her. Alicent needed Larys and his skills, Larys needed payment in the form of what sounds like assault when described by his actor. She isn't enjoying it or wanting to do it, it isn't manipulating someone into doing your bidding if you're allowing them to make you do something that makes you hate your own body in return for their help. It's uncomfortable and toxic and payment, not manipulation unless you want to pretend Larys of all characters has no agency and is a poor victim of mean monster Alicent.

  10. The assault was me quoting Larys's actor and how he plays the scene, according to him Larys knows she doesn't want to do it and sees it almost as him assaulting her to make her hate that part of her body as much as he hates his so that even when he's not there/around she'll still look at it and feel uncomfortable/repulsed. He used the word assault hence saying when described his actor.

  11. None of his actions justified losing an eye as a consequence. None of them. And if in your opinion he deserved it then Lucerys deserves to be eaten by Vhagar as well. He also finally faced the consequences of his actions and got what he deserved.

  12. Not arguing with someone who thinks Aegon is the “right” choice

  13. Why so? I'm not who you replied to but I'm legit undecided and I think it's incredible to think it's so black and white.

  14. Fuck you and your condescension. Either learn how to have a polite discussion or stfu and don't reply.

  15. Based on the one choice he made to (in his mind) fulfill a generations-long prophecy and save the realm from ultimate doom?

  16. Yeah. The prophecy is words and words are wind, and according to the show, total bullshit

  17. It doesn't matter that the prophecy is words, he believed it and that's all that matters. He didn't do what he (thought) he had to do out of a lack of love, rather a sense of duty. A duty to the whole world ffs.

  18. She has so many good quotes for being such a minor character, but they really overdid the accent.

  19. It's really hard to understand her. We've had Lyseni characters in the Game of Thrones series already - Doreah (Daenerys's handmaiden) or Varys. I know they wanted to emphasise she's foreign, but after a decade or more in King's Landing, I have a feeling almost anyone would be losing a bit of their original accent. Especially since she doesn't seem to be in active contact with any Lyseni. But still it's like she struggles to speak.

  20. I would say that's very subjective, to me she was still understandable. And people making fun of her I guarantee you are all native English speakers. Native English speakers tend to have a false air of superiority and regularly mock english learners. It's not funny to make fun of someone's accent, and I argue that nobody who mocked her fake accent had to learn English as an adult.

  21. By what metric? That is incredibly arbitrary and not a valid argument.

  22. Book Alicent was in her early 40s and aged down to 35 with an actress in her late 20s playing her.

  23. Obviously, but my point was that it’s not incorrect for him to say they are a terrorist group when they are legally designated as such. I may consider them freedom fighters but I can’t dispute the fact that they’ve been called terrorists by their government, so it’s an accurate label. Hence think we should remove the negative taboo associated with the term and cast no judgment inherently on any such group.

  24. Why would my government calling me a terrorist hold more water to you than me calling my government illegitimate? You're legitimizing one party over the other which is a political take.

  25. Terrorist and freedom fighter are two ways of describing any given group of people engaging in acts of terror to support their cause. Whichever term you use depends on whether you agree with them or not.

  26. You're so naive it physically hurts. I have no horse in this race, but "the legal status" of being considered a terrorist is decided based on the whims of the very political parties (and their political allies) that these terrorist groups are resisting.

  27. Personally I don't understand the euphemism treadmill in action here because I can't fathom anybody thinking that "child pornography" is anything other than rape.

  28. There was actually a studio/criminal gang in Japan where they'd contract relatively unknown or newer AV actresses pretending to be a regular porn studio, then they'd drug the actress, beat her, and film their rape and released it as porn bc Japan has a huge market for rape themed porn, thus meaning most people who watched the videos thought it was scripted till the CEO and the men who participated were arrested. The studio was called Bakky Visual Planning and the whole thing is called/known as the Bakky Incident or the Bakky Case.

  29. This is really interesting I'll look more into it. But this to me is all the reason why we shouldn't call that shit porn. Porn is widely legal, and arguably perfectly moral. Rape videos are neither.

  30. Last year being the Wemby draft? I'd still easily take LeBron over Wemby nem if it's one season.

  31. The planet is not over populated, we would be perfectly fine with a fair distribution of resources and environmentally conscious industry regulations. If that happened, the world's could literally double in size and we'll still be fine. The problem is capitalism, imperialism, and corruption, not overpopulation.

  32. Makes you wonder if all the dead Hamas operatives that Israel claims it has taken out were actually Hamas operatives and a single report about a suspected Hamas operative.

  33. There aren’t a lot of professional women’s athletes I’d have any interest in seeing naked tbh

  34. They got some of the hottest bodies on the planet wtf are you on

  35. No land was stolen, surprisingly. I just saw a strip of empty land and couldn’t pass it up.

  36. Why didn't you just build the road on the empty land?

  37. I saw a great opportunity to save a ton of money on roads by building them inside Ragusa! It does look really goofy though lol

  38. You built a fuckton of roads right outside Ragusa though, you do know that you have to pay yourself for those right?

  39. Just add Hiawatha, Pocatello, and Shaka to your game. You literally wouldn't need anyone else and the map will be full by the renaissance era.

  40. If you reduce a value by 33% and then increase it by 33% then the value is smaller than it began as

  41. That's definitely true for math in general but this is not how modifiers work in civilization V. Let's say you have a base culture production of 100 culture. If you then Have a fifty percent culture Bonus and then add another 10% culture Bonus on top of that you're going to end up with a sixty percent culture bonus which means that your total culture output is going to be one hundred and sixty. If you do multiplicative modifiers with real life math, you're going to end up with 165, but because in. In this game, the modifiers are additive. The bonus. Bonuses from the world. Congress resolutions are just going to end up cancelling each other out

  42. Disagree, that’s what makes colossus so strong. The +5 gold is okay at best and the merchant point it detrimental.

  43. If I’m costal and have built Petra then I will often delete the caravan and build a cargo ship I am allowed. Thus the 3-7 food I mentioned

  44. I'm with you. My only reasons to buy a tile are to meet a requirement for a Wonder (mountain tile w/in 2), resources, or to complete a border to prevent movement (I never allow open borders and generally finish Fascism before 1720).

  45. Buying natural wonders is also a big one.

  46. I usually use Generals on that. Any City-States siding with the enemy before Gunboat Diplomacy tend to lose resources to generals as well.

  47. A very valid use for generals, but assuming a Natural Wonder is unclaimed, surely mustering up 150 gold or so is infinitely easier than getting a general
